Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@travis baker - i like the panning in the intro, the spacey effects sound cool, messin around with some funky dubby chords with that shit and some auto filtering could sound badass man. i like that snare too. it needs much more automation and shit going on. how did you get that kick? build it ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@JTL - The vocals at the start fit really well, and the detail on the percussion makes it feel more real, the second vocals for me get a bit tiring, and an the song doesn't seem to progress, there needs to be much more detail on the sampling. Change the samples around bit and get more variation in ...

@BudSpencertron - Thanks about the sub. They're just two simple sine waves. One real sub one the lower octave then one a bit higher which seems to make all the difference on sound systems without any kind of subwoofer.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Just a little question to see if anyone else has the same problem. The ableton 'auto filter' seems to not be in sync with abletons tempo (on the synced settings, of course). When I use ableton's built in auto filter (say on a distorted bass) and I then try to add a nice sub underneath and modulate ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@ mraural - I liked the feel of that. Definitely need some sub in there. Maybe more compression on the basses and some levelling? I'm guessing it's got lots of work to go? I like the reverb on the snare but the snare itself wasn't doing it for me (probably more personal preference though ...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for NOVEMBER, 2010
@ Loud Flavour - Loving the spacey intro!! I really love heavy electro shit and this sounds heavy man! By about 2.30 it needs some more interesting shit or something as it goes on a bit i think. If this was a dubstep tune i think you'd need a few different bass sounds :P just an idea :/

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for OCTOBER, 2010
@Gryme syndicate - I'm likin' the vibes! Really liking the little cut up vocal sounding things! What are they? The panning on the bass is sick aswell! Not really sure about the structure, but then again i find the hardest shit is getting something coherent all the way through.

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010
@frogman - shits sounding tight (i'm not to big on knowledge about production but it's sounding tight, maybe some more reverb on the snare would be cooooool but thats just the way i like it..)

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
@ The people trying to copy automation, try right clicking anywhere on a automation track in arrangement view an uncheck the 'lock envelopes' setting, This will copy all the automation from one midi clip to another, it might help your problem?!?!

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010
@ jak-a-tron - Liking the sound :) Definitely needs some variation in my opinion! Liking the drum sounds too.
@ibscotty - Quite dark but a bit repetitive maybe? more variation on the lead? Have you tried playing in via a midi keyboard or even just the computer keyboard, I find it really helps when ...

@move-ment - Chilled pretty, I like it, maybe a bigger kick drum? I don't listen to much garagey stuff so my feedback might not be too good... ahhhh sly & the revolutionary

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@ p3rt2k8 - Kinda a bit benga/flying lotusy I like it.. maybe fatten the kick up a bit? but that might not fit that sorta music...
@ Mars - Nice vibes (although I have been known to like the biggest shit before...) Only advice could be to fill it out a bit more, but it might not work with that ...

@ Oscarhenson - Very chilled but yeah, need more depth and maybe something else a little extra? not sure what when all else fails I always try some reggae guitars :w: but thats just me. Liked the vibe though :) My snare was made up of lots of shit... and I think I put one in an octave lower too ...

Hey guys :D I'm pretty new to this but feedback would be greatly appreciated, obviously this tune isn't finished but I need heavy criticism to let me know what's wrong (a lot of people are too nice and will nod and say it sounds cool even if its a pile of steaming shit)
