Re: The Reese Bass Thread
Maybe someone will find some enjoyment in this one. I mix my tracks quite low so you may have to turn up the volume a bit - just roughly comparing it to the other posts. The source synth was Operator with some chorus/phaser/saturation. Bounce a MIDI track to audio, copy that audio track, modulate an...

Re: Terra - Heavy Smoke (Deep/Dark)
Yeah the delayed keys/pad gets a little muddy with everything else, but other than that, it is a damn neat track to groove to. EQ some of the harsh stuff out of the feedback and it should be sounding sick. I love the Cheech & Chong sample with the awkward silence in the middle before the messy b...

Re: Champagne & Limousines - Bounce (Drumstep)
I'd say bring the sub down a bit and everything else should level itself out. Hip-hoppy for sure. Maybe work on some transitions to introduce each new section. Sounds a-ok otherwise man.

2:block - Panty Melt (Glitch Hop/100bpm)
I've been digging me some 100 bpm stuff lately, so I thought I should have a go at it. I guess there is always room for improvement, but I'd like the bassline to have a couple more switch-ups. I just have to make stuff that fits, and not some ordinary bullshit wobbles. Thanks for any input guys! htt...

Re: Help Me Make That Sound - 2011.
Heard this unreleased, and therefore I assume, unfinished track on a KOAN Sound mix. Culprate with Tekka and Sticky Disco. Track starts at 1:43, craziness comes in at 1:57/1:58 and again at 2:16/2:17. I have a rough idea as to what is going on, just would like to get an idea if I am on the right tra...

Re: Help Me Make That Sound - 2011.
Is anyone able to help me make these style wobbles? feels weird calling them wobbles because they dont seem very wobbly imo anyone able to help me out? I'm pretty sure all of those artists are Reason users, or at least rewire Reason; I've been playing around in Reason but cant get anything :( bumpp...

Re: Snare clashing with mid-range
as an aside to the OP's question, I've been meaning to ask how harmful limiting EVERYTHING in your mix is. It's nice to see no peaks/clips in the recording of the master track, but I'm severely cutting down my dynamic range correct? It took a while for me to notice, but it sure sounds like the mix i...

Re: Will they feed us the womb?

Someone needs to be very brave and attempt some Volta mixes. I've been playing around with Cicatriz ESP, but it's nowhere near a song yet.
LONG LIVE DA VOLTA!

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
No love. don't know why. I've seen it pop up with copy envelope, (never paste, which you think would be useful) but not usually. And even now, as I add a new lane, highlight my automation, and right click, no mention of doing ANYTHING to an envelope. weeeeird Then why not just ctrl/Apple c it? If t...

I can't seem to find some of the wavs/mp3s in my collection of albums when I look for them in Ableton. Copyright issues, or something else?

Re: Massive LFO sync drawing problems in Ableton
you can automate both of the sync parameters in massive. I use Ableton so i just hit configure on the VST tab for Massive, move the parameters and up they pop for automation. You must have a current version then. Older versions cannnnnnnot automate it. I'm not sure which version included this fix, ...

Re: For those who want to get into resampling:
In Ableton: Open a new audio track. Go to the arrangement view. Make sure you have the little I-O icon (right hand side of the screen) turned on. The default setting for an audio track is Ext. In (external in I assume). Click on that and on the drop down list you'll see an option called Resampling :...

Re: Ableton Device Focus: AUTOFILTER
Cutest thing in Ableton. Don't be afraid to turn the LFO's rate all the way up. Just make sure to turn the amount down. It will sound all nice and watery once you turn the amount down a bit. Resample that fucker and MY GOSH you have a bass like the pros.

Re: Massive LFO sync drawing problems in Ableton
I'm not sure which version of Massive fixes this problem, but yes you have found one of the biggest flaws with the VST. You CANNOT automate the synced rate in Massive - the earlier versions that is. Fixes : Have fun with an unsynced rate. You can get some pretty neat results, it just takes more time...
