Re: Most stable vinyl emulation software?
sl1 is rock solid (what i use) know people who've used every version & sl4 seems to be the one they swear by, so i guess if youve got the cash, you might as well go for that Hey thanks for the reply. From researching on the net it seems like Serato is the most simple and stable. What kind of la...

Most stable vinyl emulation software?
Really like to hear some feedback from you guys on which one you like the best in terms of being solid/stable/having the least issues. Currently using M-audio torq on a macbook. Over the last years it had its issues like jittering and torq crashed last weekend in the middle of a set. That was pretty...

Re: headphones vs. monitors
You can get the Shure SRH440's or the Sennheiser HD280's I have the Sennheisers and my friend has the Shures and unfortunately their both over $100 (unless you look on google shopping ;-) ) Haha I've been meaning to buy a pair of 280's. If I posted a pic of my monitoring situation I'd get laughed o...

Re: How to not piss off my neighbours? (isolating bass)
OP please post if you find a solution that works. ill be tackling this issue pretty soon as well. btw do you use isolation stands? Will do, So far having them away from the wall has stopped the upstairs folk from stomping on the floor. They're big so it's not ideal. I'm selling them right now and p...

Re
Yyou can do more with ableton for example than with maschine, sure FL can too. Find it's just got a way faster, and smoother workflow through using hardware, and it does more than enough to make entire track as you would with a DAW. just some of those smaller/intricate things it can't do/handle as w...

Re: NI Maschine - Anyone use?
Hey, picked one up like 3 weeks ago and def glad i did. Super smooth and easy to set up with my midi keyboard, and using it with DAW (ableton for me) is just awesome too. My fav thing about it that can just turn the cpu screens off, sit back, and make music from the hardware no problem. Def has made...

How to not piss off my neighbours? (isolating bass)
When i turn up the monitors half way to even a decent monitoring level the upstairs neighbours start banging on the floor. From the written complaints it's the bass coming from the soundsystem. The speakers are close to the wall which i fear is part of the problem (because the rockit 8 are huge). I ...

Some good picks here.
Suprised nobody mentioned Scarface.
The score for the intro is so sick.
and that montage scene......

Re: Active or Passive Listener?
Producing tons makes you an active listener without a doubt. I do audio post work and can barely watch anything without getting distracted by bad dialogue edits like lip smacks , off axis mic rec. any subtle noise floors, hums, tones or library sounds i have used before etc... it really sucks... *mm...

Song Structure help
So im working on this track and so far it has a 16 bar intro then drops into the main part... potential problem: The main part play for 16 bars and then a 8 bar transition. So in total its looping every 24 bars.(it just feels right this way) Usually keep things in 16's so its easy to mix. I just hav...
