Re: Would you ever try heroin?
No fucking way. Have a friend who tried most of the insanely addictive drugs. He kicked this one and was stupid enough to try some breaking bad. He's been clean for two months but he lacks enough self control for me to have faith in him kicking it on his own. I could understand when you have little ...

Thanks! I will eventually pursue the RHCE7 but I think I need to broaden my knowledge of networking and C first. That way I can harden systems with more understanding.

I never told anyone but I received my RHCSA6 last December.
Finji, take a look at Michael Jang's books if you want to become more acquainted with Redhat based binaries. You have a bit of a road ahead of you but I believe anyone can handle linux if they take their time.

I'm suprised at the results... this shows that there are more women than men on this forum.

I'm a misanthrope. Proud supporter of cigarette companies, fast food, anything that can cut down numbers. Can we aim for 1/16 of our current total?

Re: Micromanagers
What? Are you not an employee? Do employers not hire employees to do the jobs that they don't want to or have time to do? This is really just what it means to be an employee. I highly doubt this kind of behaviour goes on indefinitely, and if you have such a problem with this behaviour there's nothi...

Tell him he's suffocating you, don't come on here and complain about it. Set a meeting, and tell him how inadequate of a manager he is in as polite a way as possible. I have had several jobs with these douchebags and it never gets any better. The three skills you learn are to keep your head low, suck up when they hover over you, and how to interact with someone who has both a mental and personality disorder.

Re: Linux Heads
I've been making cron jobs for the last few days for backups on certain servers. Tar and gzip for compression. Then another cron job from the backup machine to scp the files over during the middle of the night. I've been having to generate SSH RSA keys to get it all working. It's been fun. Ran into...

Re: Linux Heads
Its good to see all the linux heads come out of their holes. Linux is a different beast for sure. One thing that annoys me about red hat-based distros is the SELinux contexts conflicting with various operations and file IO requests. It feels like every 10th file operation in lab scenarios I have to ...

What distro are you currently using?
Been losing sleep over Red Hat cramming with Centos 6.5 and maintaining a Debian media server.
Soon to be RHCSA. >
(if I can get the shit done before Dec 19th that is, otherwise it's off to Centos 7)
