Can't wait for this one, been wanting to see Sully for time! Carrier was a masterpiece and the stuff he did before that is bare under-rated. Gonna be a lot!

Modus Operandi was the first electronic album I "got". Something just clicked, phenomenal and incredibly influential throughout genres.

Re: mixdown as you go or when your finished?
I write in reason and very roughly mix as I go (just levels though, no EQ or anything). Then once everything's written I rewire into Cubase and start my mixdown from scratch.

Re: diov - Necropolis Dub [Dark/Dubby]
Nice tune man loving them drums. For me though the sub is just too 'big' if you know what i mean. Tone the harmonics down a bit maybe. Also it gets a little samey by the end, you could introduce a new element or two possibly... Cheers for the feedback, mate! Aye, if I was gonna re-do the mixdown I'...

diov - Necropolis Dub [Dark/Dubby]
First one I've finished in a while, nout too complex, just dark, dubby vibes. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Re: Mala working on Cuban album...
Im ok with this. It's what dubstep used to be like before everyone turned into mixdown surgeons anyway wish more tunes were mixed like this actually. would be facemelting on a system all about this i think too much dubstep these days sounds overly produced, the rawness of the early stuff definitely...

Re: mixing quiet
Aside from protecting hearing and keeping it a comfortable level, a lot of it is to do with the Fletcher-Munson equal-loudness contours: http://www.zainea.com/robdad1.jpg Because low end frequencies require a higher SPL to be heard as loud as other frequencies, your low end may seem louder than it a...

Re: Mala working on Cuban album...
My box set arrived today. It has exceeded my expectations. A truly transcendent work. Stand out tracks (though there isn't a bad track on the album) were definitely Ghost and Change. And Noches Sueños is unreal. If I had to pick a weakest track I'd say The Tourist, it's a nice song, just didn't do ...

Re: An insight into the History Of Dubstep by the Pioneer EL
yeh i didnt enjoy the first mix, and big up's EL-B for saving the interview I get the impression that tokay had no idea what EL B was talking about. When he mentioned Groove Chronicles, instead of going through the HUGE DOOR and talking about the future influence it had on the scene (including buri...

Re: Mala working on Cuban album...
Certainly not my cup of tea to own on vinyl, glad i listened to the tracks before opening my box up. You ordered the boxset without listening to the previews? As did I, and probably a lot of the people on here. With something like this, it's worth waiting til the wax arrives, kicking back with a zo...

Feeling the tunnel, it is quite different to Mala's usual feel though.
