And interestingly, while many would defend the earlier days of brostep a lot of dnb heads would defend the earlier days of jump up..... -q-
A lot of parallels can be found with dnb and dubstep.

Re: Dubstep in transformers 3 comercial

Well, people have been saying for years that lots of filthy dubstep sounds like Transformers in some way or another. Weren't they using breakbeat and dnb in movie trailers and whatnot about 12 years ago, anyway?

Re: Skrillex "In For The Kill" Music Video (Unofficial)

Wow, that was really lame. I thought I kind of liked Skrillex (well, I liked his remix of HORSE The Band's "Shapeshift"), but I'm getting sick of this whole "melodic lady singing + WOBBLE OWBBLE" thing I've been hearing lately. Is that like, the new default dubstep remix template...

so dubstep has finally caught on in my area

Like, all my friends at school are into it now, and that really wouldn't be a bad thing at all; the only problem is that they all like the kind that totally sucks. I'm in no place to be a snob about any of this, given that I discovered the genre during the summer of 2009 via Caspa and Rusko's Fabric...

Re: Getting bored of dubstep?....

BREAKCORE! Oh yeah, this. I seem to go through this kind of yearly cycle, where electronic stuff-wise, I listen mainly to dubstep around summer and mainly to breakcore/jungle around winter. There's also grime, which I guess you could say grew up alongside dubstep, but is focused more on rapping and...

Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched lately)

I saw Pulp Fiction for the first time ever about two weeks ago. It was a very good movie until Bruce Willis showed up. I hate that guy; I have no idea why, but I do. There was a loving-type scene with him in it, and I thought that was unnecessary. Maybe it's because he's bald.

They call it Speedcore. It's not really music as much as it's some sort of gabber pissing contest.

Re: UK Garage is definitely on a rise...

I kind of like some of this new garage-type stuff, like Joy Orbison and Mount Kimbie, but generally speaking, I think a lot of UK Garage is boring. Like when I heard that mix, none of the songs really stood out to me, except "Hyph Mngo". Also, I keep confusing UKG with UGK, and that angers...
