Re: Break Sample Loops vs Programmed Drums
I use ableton's drum rack with a bunch of different samples in it (many cut out of breaks) and then will often have a break, sometimes two, in a separate audio track that i chop up/glitch by hand

Re: PROBERT - GRIME SCALE
best tune i've heard on here in a good while, love the name too. This has real energy.
Got a vocalist lined up? If not hit me up, i have one who i've been trying to write stuff for for ages but my songs always come out too stripped down/chilled.

Re: Iarba-That Fucking Piano
Really don't like the piano, either the sound or the tune it's playing. If you want a song driven by a piano melody the only real option is to record or sample someone who's actually good at it- trying to write a melody with midi or play one yourself when you aren't any good at the piano is just goi...

Re: Bugsky - Sustainability
there's some really great sound design in this, love that reverby rising synth. The song is arranged very, very similarly to a liquid dnb track- do you listen to much, was that intentional? (Just to be clear, it's definitely not a bad thing, I was just interested). Only thing I'm not a fan of is the...

Re: FuhNetIk - Grimace (Dark-glitch-bro)
not bad, especially considering i don't like brostep. Your higher synth notes don't hit as hard, even though they're as "loud" layring them with a sine an octave or a 5th below could help them punch as hard as the lower notes. (it's possible you've done this and just need to adjust the EQ ...

If you want people commenting about how much you sound like mt eden then yes you're doing it right.
The question you should be asking is why on earth you'd want that.

really like the backbeat sections of this, there's a really nice rythmn to it. Unfortunately then the main "wobble" comes in and ruins the song.

Is it possible to buy this on mp3? I don't have a record player. Google has been no help (just gives me a load of illegal links- fuck off) and every shop i usualy use only seems to have the vinyl.

Re: OSaka - Blue Lotus [Instrumental hip-hop]
I really don't like that kick drum, but the rest of the tune has a nice atmosphere to it. It feels like it'd work much better at a slower tempo though, possibly even as a downtempo track. Please consider just taking a bit off the bpm, and possibly stripping down the drums slightly. There's a lot of ...

Re: SINU - 2562/burial/Akema/Mousai Radio
Although it actually came together faster than most of my other tunes I genuinely don't feel it was rushed, which i presume is what you're implying. I listen to a lot of glass and cage, and I see this stye of music as something to sit in the background providing an atmosphere, rather than something ...

Re: New dubstep producer- ambient dubstep
I listen to a lot of not dubstep, and always keep half an ear out for any samples, vocal or not. You'd be surprised at what ends up fitting when you fuck about with it enough (my latest song has kaskade's voice on it believe it or not, even though it sounds more like a man).

The vocal work on this is really fun. I like a lot. Can't say i'm as much of a fan of some of the format filtered synths you used, but overall I like your style.

Re: REALLY NEED SOME CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM :0
some nice ideas here, i like the quick delay on the vocals. As previously mentioned you could do with a lot more low end on your synths. I don't think it's just subbass you need though (which is generally a sine wave in the 40-80hz range) but some sort of more-bassy synth an octave or two lower than...

Re: New dubstep producer- ambient dubstep
I really like everything except the vocal, which I'm really not a fan of. The rest of the song is excellent- exactly the sort of style I listen to (and try to write). I think some small vocal stabs with a lot of verb+delay could fit if you really want some voice work in there but I think even if all...

Re: [FEEDBACK] Cingulate WIP (Deep, minimal, rolling)
It's got a nice vibe. The instruments work well together and also sound well mixed to me. It's very repetetive at the moment though, especially wrt the melody. You need to add a lot of variation (even if it's subtle) for the track to be interesting to listen to for 4 minutes.
