Re: Turntable for non-serious aspiring DJ

with luck and time you can score techs for under $500. every few months i see a pair go for that price. this would be the best deal. if you're looking for something as a just now go for stanton str-8-60s or 80s. they're direct drive and not super awful or expensive. the problem with buying cheap lik...

Re: Dre Studio Cans Vs. Sennheiser HD25 MKII's. Dre cans los

Anything endorsed by a rapper is gonna be a piece of shit, and them dre headphones are a piece of shit, just marketing hype for a cheap pair of over eq'd hifi phones sprayed with gloss paint for dumb fucks that know nothing about music or engineering. REAL TALK reading this while watching your avat...

Re: I can't make music when I want...

If you can't seem to get tracks going try working on just synth patches, building drumsets, & setting up a mixer template so you're ready to rock when you are feeling it. Or if you only have only so much time and can't get anything out set up time constraints. Say, 20 minutes to come up with as ...

Oh yeah, and before that he was the original drummer of Napalm Death. HISTORY LESSON! Not the original, but joined and definitely pushed that band to play faster and brought blastbeats to everyone by touring the fuck out of europe. The early stuff is like a more aggressive peace punk/Crass kinda fe...

Re: The FL Studio Q&A Thread

I was wondering if there is any way to have for example 1 zone on my axiom 49 to control FL`s live playlist and have another zone to control a synth. Or any other example of controling and switching between synths without having to mark that channel without my mouse, i want to use only my midi cont...

peep this link.... 36 dj midi contollers reviewed. http://www.digitaldjtips.com/2010/11/dj-midi-controllers-buyers-guide-2011/ You need to think about what software you want to use. Most you can remap to whatever software you want but it'll probably be easier doing it in the software they designed i...

Re: Laptop production- some advice from the heads please?

Not to knock the apple fans but...... i've been pricing out laptops myself. I've been building pcs for a long time and work in tech support. go mac if you don't want to deal with too much tweaking stuff on the machine. super easy to use, super expensive to replace anything. the parts last a long tim...

Re: Low On Cash & Want To Make Mixes

i'm in the same boat. i've been fucking around with vdj nonstop and i'm loving it. making mixtapes as a kid was always one of my favorite things to do. doesn't matter if i'm making a tape for some babe or a hardcore punk/metal tape for myself, shit NEEDS to flow and you can only do that with constan...

Re: Works-in-Progress for feedback--MARCH 2010

@ ruari89 - i like the overall vibe but i think it drags a little long. maybe trim it back a little and spice up the beat like you did at 2:40. @ soulshynchyld - sounds good. i deffinetly think if the drums doubled up at a drop it would really sound sick. @ maelstrom99 - i like it but some of the fr...

Re: DJing and confidence issues.

A lot of good advice in here... ...something I would add, is to know that things go wrong. Not just to be beginners - to EVERYONE. If you know this - then it is easier to deal with in the moment, because the fact is: often times what you think is a devastating mistake, most people will miss anyway....

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.

My turn - bit of an experiment with using bongos layered over pitched 808 bass rather than a standard kick drum + bassline. Moody and rolling. Pretty much a skeleton at the moment - no intro, no outro, fairly basic mix etc: http://soundcloud.com/slothrop-1/untitled i like this a lot. the bongos giv...
