some of you kids have some pretty backwards views on breaks. have you never listened to hip hop? jungle? they are a real thing. and to say that they kill musical freedom is so...i can't find an emoticon with its head up its ass.

i agree that the chart is both a handy intro to eq for beginners and that the numbers themselves are suspect. boost snares at 6? that sounds like it could be pretty sharp and irritating to me.

don't forget to put some oomph in there. seriously, though, build energy throughout the track. build towards a drop, hold that energy, then release somewhat, start building again, big romance explosion, vamp out. my sig track is an example. you don't even have to listen to it, just look at the wavef...

Also, i know controllers look nice, but, alot of clubs dont appreciate you hauling in tons of kit when they have a set of decks and cdj's that have been hooked up since the dawn of time. i respectfully disagree. almost everybody (at least around here) is using computers to dj these days. of course,...

yeah, le's pretty sweet. limited, but geared towards live sets. it only allows 8 channels, i think, but that's how many my nanokontrol has anyway, so it's been working out great.

i didn't listen to the sound in question, but another idea is to attach an lfo, but leave it unsynced and deselect restart (sorry i'm talking massive here) so that it just keeps on doing its lfo thing without starting from the beginning every time you play a note. now, if you write a catchy rhythm w...
