Re: Question regarding LIVE Dubstep shows
It all depends on what you consider "live". some people will call it a live show if it's a producer playing all original music, even if they are basically just DJing their own songs. But there's a whole spectrum of possibilities for playing electronic music live - though there doesn't seem...

Re: Denver, CO
Yup, as others have said, there's a great scene here in Denver for bass music. Sub.Mission is constantly bringing great shows, and they do a good job of representing all sides of the dubstep sound, not just going for the stuff that sells the most tickets all the time. Also check out Mile High Sound ...

I do... and I respect the music that others create, even if it doesn't strike my fancyJFK wrote:Just make the music you want to and ignore the rest.
I just thought it might be fun to call out the folks who constantly belittle the music they don't like by accusing the producers of having no talent.

A Challenge...
I feel like there's a lot of shit talking on this forum from those who like deep stuff about how tearout/brostep is so simple to make - and vice versa, brosteppers talking shit about how deep stuff is so simple. So I'd like to see someone (or hopefully many people) step up and prove it. If you hate ...

Re: how long does it take you to make a tune?
it varies tremendously... I've had a few pretty dope tracks that came out pretty much all in one sitting, 4-6 hours. Then others I struggle with for days and days (sometimes weeks...) Average is probably 2 or 3 sessions of 4-6 hours each, spread over a couple of days. But then I always spend a ton o...

Re: Love Skrillex? Check this out!
When I post music I like I'm not doing that with a long pretentious rants about how the music I like is the way the music is "supposed to be", telling people what's wrong about what they listen to and what's right about what I listen to. I simply post links. I don't get high and mighty ab...

Re: Psychology behind all mid-ranged music
I would advise producers with broad tastes in music but without good connections to ignore the waffle on here and write whats popular if it means you get to wind up a few miserable tits in the process then thats an added bonus. That in no way means you can't write artistic music as well (look at Re...

Re: attn: bassnectar, skrillex, and glitch mob fans.
i guess a lot of people got wrapped up in (myself included) being a part of dubstep music and culture, because it was so different and good. and now that it's gettin huge and is now associated, by mass amounts of people, with power tool noises, 59/50 fitted caps, ugly shoes, glowsticks, offensive y...

Re: attn: bassnectar, skrillex, and glitch mob fans.
it's a word that can get very frustrating, because (for example...) going to a dubstep night expecting to hear one type of music, and having to put up with music you don't like at all, is less than enjoyable. does this really happen...? I hear people cite this as one of the problems with the word d...

their is a huge difference between jakes, coki sukh knight etc and bare noize, skrillex, datisk, excision etc one group doesn't try too hard and creates bangers which are standard in almost every dj's set and command instant instant reloads. the others are just over produced noise which only see th...

Most of those guys aren't strictly dubstep artists, but they do dubstep tunes, and their sound design is always very unique and cool.

Re: Why do people hate on Skrillex?
People feel they deserve love and admiration in dubstep over skrillex because they feel they put fourth more effort and are more deserving. This stems from people making assumptions about an artist they don't know and trying to rationalize why they haven't personally gotten their lucky break in the...

yup, earplugs are definitely essential.
for cheap the etymotic ER20s or the Alpine MusicSafe Pro's are both good - i like the Alpine's a bit better, they fit my ears better and sound a bit clearer, but both are pretty good.
if you've got the $ def go for the custom molded ones

it's like, a deliberate mental disconnect tho . you guys think that whenever someone says they dont like brostep, that it's because they're sheep following some kind of DSF mandated opinion ? what kind of conspiracy is that ? do you actually believe that all of the people saying they don't like Zed...
