Re: FML.
You know Basic A, apart from you and you're circlejerking producer buddies nobody gives a shit if you made your kickdrums or whatever the fuck it may be by farting into a mic or ripping it from an old vinyl. This is where we obviously have a different opinion. The end product matters, you can burp t...

Re: FML.
No song battle. I can't stand the attitude that you have to be better at something to express dislike. If this was the case, I'd have to eat shit all day because I can't cook anything. I'm just saying Basic A's music doesn't even remotly appeal to me while Mt Eden's does. @collige: Sorry, can't list...

Re: FML.
What? Mt Eden didn't make "Still alive"? What exactely did he do then? Regarding "Nobody of you made the tunes he made and I like them, so he is the one I have to thank for it." Are you stupid? Unless I'm horribly misinformed, the guy made these songs, possibly including a shitlo...

Re: FML.
Oh my god, I don't give a rats as if he is a good producer or artist or painter or smashes the keyboard with his dick. I like his songs, period. And YouTube's viewer count says the same. You can hate on him as much as you want. Maybe he's "only" a talented remixer. I don't care. Nobody of ...

Re: FML.
That's pure rubbish. Talking about good in the way of musical value? It entertains tons of people. It must be good, else it wouldn't sell that good. Or are we talking about production values again? You don't want to tell me commercial music is done by amateurs, now do you? I don't like everything th...

Re: FML.
Oh noes, now it's ON! Listen, if Mt Eden is Brostep, then I don't know. I like a variety of music in contrast to what seems the majority of close-minded people here. You don't bring shit to the discussion, heck you don't even seem to know what I was talking about the last 4 posts or so.

Re: FML.
Well I have to disagree, I really like what I hear from Mt Eden but I have to admit, I never got me some higher quality MP3s so it might be very well be possible things I blamed on YouTube might be actually shitty from the start. Still, I don't see magic there, people seem to like, most of them - fr...

Re: Judging your own tunes....
Thing is I have maybe 2 songs I love, and I loved making them. It dident feel like I was working hard to come up with ideas, they just kept flowing. This, I definitely know. For me it's all about the mood. Most of the time I want to make music, fire up my DAW, turn knobs and leave with a piece of s...

Re: FML.
I can't be assed to add thousands of quotes but I'll answer anyway: You see, your fucking problem is you seem to think production values are above music. I've listened to Mt Eden tunes on loop for hours because I actually like what I listen to, I don't even fuck know you, your music or anything. So ...

Re: Judging your own tunes....
I think I know what you're talking about but this usually happens when I listen to the same bars 3 hours straight, I start to like my weird sounding synths. Just call it a day, listen to it when your ears are fresh and you will go like "wtf is this shit". Your ears get used to about anythi...

Re: White noise
Well yeah, string theory is an asshole but I'd still go with the stream here and say white noise is white noise, get any synth you like, it probably has a source for it. But for a few pounds I could be arsed to upload a sample, lemme know.

Re: Quick question with regards to drums
No, completely different drum channels are hard to sound alike so you better use one and mess around like a mofo pre-drop with it. Apart from that the rule still applies: Anything goes if it sounds good. Let me tell you the highpassed drums with an automated cutoff are rinsed out like fuck though. I...

Re: Melodies/ Riffs... whatever!
Wise words. Plus, classical training doesn't teach you random shit but stuff that sounds GOOD in the first place. Sure, some thing or another might apply to stuf you write ona piano or shit like that but in general, knowing your chords/intervals/mommy is good for your music.

I'm drunk and what the fuck is this: Are you fucking retarded? Mt Eden's songs are really really melodish ambient shit and I mean this in a good way. Myself and my mates who are mainly into different genres like him. So uhm, this is the jealousy speaking I assume. You know, fucks like you are the on...

Re: The Purpose of an audio interface
Well, I wasn't in the clear what an audio interface was myself, too. My mate always kept saying I need one, so I bought one (Tascam US-144MKII). To answer your questions: Yes, an audio interface is a soundcard. My Tascam one works over USB and you install a dedicated driver for it. From then on, a n...

Re: Melodies/ Riffs... whatever!
An arp is an arpeggiator (no clue on the spelling). Kind of you program a melody into a synth and it plays it whenever you press a key. The demotivional postings here aside I feel with you. I have no clue about music theory, chords, scales yadda yadda and I have a hard time coming up with melodies l...

Uhm Tascam US-144 MKII here running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit with the native Win 7 drivers off the Tascam page. No problem whatsoever, 12ms latency on lowest settings, no crackle even when playing with u-he's ACE.

Re: Reason is shit
I like the "ears > analyzer" crowd. Sure, if you've got educated ears ( ) then you better mix by ear but I haven't got so if I want to see where stuff is clashing or maybe where there's a thin band in the spectrum, I do two clicks and know where it's at. Maybe in 10 years I can tell ...
