From memory, BZP (think it's BZP can't remember) a sort of MDMA immitater persay is legal in the UK, henceforth ecstacy has pretty much died in the ass. Therefore i'm assuming pe...

making a tune with your speakers/monitors off? got this idea from Tripwire's thread couple threads down. Though I'm sure people dey in the world who've done this once or twice. it's highly probable that the tune would be an epic fail, but then again, unless you don't know production from Adam you pr...

I also grab the mic and hum in melodies. s. Oh my god, this is genius, so simple and I never thought to think of it. I've been using the spectrum analyzer to figure out melodies of songs for a while now... never did I realize I could use it to figure out the plethora of shit I can hum all day long....

Re: knoledge vs creativity

another random thought...maybe a bit unrelated but whatever. Keep your shit simple. Having one synth, one reverb, one delay, one phaser, and so on is the way to go imo. Maybe two of each tops. I know a few people who have 40gb of synths, 300 000 gb of various plug ins, and they spend more time fucki...

Re: knoledge vs creativity

yeah I was mentioning this in another thread. I usually go in and throw ideas down, all my faders are at like -3, -4db. Just keeping throwing down ideas. And I do this all with this sweet lil vst, 4front piano. I also grab the mic and hum in melodies. Just to keep it simple. Then I come back and get...

For me it's: Comp - Dimension 3100 I got in October 2006 Headphones - Philips SHP8500 snatched from the radio station I spin at. Speakers - Logitech X-540 5.1 Speaker System My mouse is so fucked, it goes into this weird double click mode which treats a single click as a double click. It works again...

ambient's a great style of music.

but if we're talking in terms of dubstep with no drums, I think it'd be a bit hit or miss.

Re: Anyone familiar with Linux? Recommendations?

hmmm...

building a new comp later in the year. considering ditching Windows and dealing with Linux, just reading up on all of this.

already using Renoise so no problem there. also use Reaper... supposedly works stabily.

still reading up on this shit though.
