Dubstep APC40 video set...
So I've been putting together a live set that mixes hundreds of samples together as well as live midi, harmonica, and vocals. This is a quick little video of a chunk that I've been rehearsing. It starts off nice and mellow but ends banging... Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yn7ZA0KD_Iw&fea...

This is a mix that attempts to showcase how disparate styles of music can come together. The mix fluctuates from chilled and emotive to upbeat and bangin...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- SEPTEMBER 2010
http://soundcloud.com/cosineiow/positive would love feedback! I like the drums but does the idea really deserve over 5 minutes? I'm not sure if there is enough progression @ lord bit - Love this, crazy wobbles and tons of fills. Well done! @universeofenergy - Wow this is way better then my first at...

Journey - Don't Stop Believing (Club Seal's Dubstep Remix)
So I seemingly get this song requested at every fucking gig. I could be playing German techno to deaf albinos and someone would still write it down on a piece of paper and chuck it at me. I decided to remix in a way that flips the mood of the song on its head. I've taken away all the hope and happin...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- SEPTEMBER 2010
@dubplateguy Heavy tune bro, I like the vibe and the thriller sample. I think the distorted synths may be a bit overpowering the drums. I dont feel like the bass drum cuts through enough. All and all though, It sweet, like 8bit dubstep @Jasperv I like the drums, especially after 2:00. The track real...

Re: MTV - The Wrap Up Article: The Future Of Dubstep.
What do you expect? MTV is a reality television company not a music company any more. I wouldn't trust them to sit on a toilet seat the right way let alone give a look into the ever changing world of dubstep...tacospheros wrote:that article is complete and utter waste . exactly what i would expect from mtv

Re: How can I improve my mixing?
I'm struggling with is equalizing the highs. In most situations should I turn the highs down on the track mixing in and then swap them in before or during the bass drops or is there a better sounding way? Also I rarely fuck with EQing the mids unless there's some vocals going on, so I'm not sure if...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for APRIL, 2010
http://soundcloud.com/the-phantom-bangers-dubs/deaht-robo-carp cause i didnt get any feedback on my previous one. Not sure i'm feelin this one, the simple melody is fine but the double claps are kinda off putting. It just feels like the track needs more cohesion and a unifying element. @bizmu...

Re: How to get gorrilaz soundin drums
well don't quote me on this but i think the most efficient way of getting that sound is by in fact sampling drums off old, distorted, damaged vinyl... You make it sound so easy :o You could also just record with shitty mics/recording hardware (aka cell phones). I think Hudson Mohawke does that alot...

I'll play Vinyl out because as much as it's about the music it's also about putting a show on at the end of the day. People want interaction, not some beirdy weirdo hunched over a laptop. Thats why Rane came out with the TTM57! I've been gigging with it for 2 years and it has completely changed the...

Re: So who's a DJ?
At 10bag, yeah, I know what you mean man, theres not much to cover outside of little tips on how to beatmatch, but gear, and more advanced technique is left out on this board alot with djing. note the mixing in and mixing out sections, I hope to have these entail discussion of a very creative proce...

Re: Vinyl VS CDJ's
I've DJ'd 15 years, more parties than I can count, and like I said if you think you're cooler because you dropped the cash to cut a dub then you are a whack dj. You can't buy your way to being a good DJ and anyone who thinks you're cooler because your dubplate has 2 holes in it versus a dj whose vi...

Re: Works-in-Progress for feedback--MARCH 2010
@soulshynchyld I like the vibe on it but i wish the drums were more substantial and busy. I feel like a quick 2step beat would go really well. The bass that kicks in at the end is nice as well @Astral Love the tune so far, would be nice to hear a full cut, maybe a return to the intro melody towards ...
