Re: Mastering a dj Mix

Oh ok I just would have thought they would have done mastering to the mix before it goes out for commercial sale

I guess just making sure my levels are consistant will be enough then?

Mastering a dj Mix

So I've just done a hour demo mix with 28 tracks all my mixes are sounding tight, but I was wanting to put it into ableton and give it a mastering touch. What techniques do they add to the mixes before they get put into a disk and sold(eg. mos CDs or tempa all stars)

parallel compressing in ableton

Can someone explain how to do this in ableton. is it just as simple as putting a compressor on a send channel and sending your track to the send channel? Do you have it only going to the send and not the master? (i guess it wouldnt be parallel then) or do you have it going to your master and the sen...

Re: Drum rack for basslines

Drum rack for basslines

I know theres a lot of threads about chopping up basslines. But i had an idea of putting the bounced/chopped up basslines into the drum rack(ableton) to make a bassline. I find it works wonders! Having the basslines one on top of the other makes to soo much easier to map out the bassline. Set a loop...
