Re: Annoying white noise on lead sounds
Is this still a problem after you render it out to an mp3 or wav? If it's only in the DAW and not in the rendered version then it's an issue somewhere in the signal from your DAW to your output source. Also are you resampling these leads? A lot of times you can end up with a white noise after you re...

Re: Inspiration or Satisfaction?
I've actually been in a bit of a predicament lately when it came to inspiration. The last couple months I've felt no inspiration or motivation to do anything. So then I started trying to force things rather than wait for inspiration and I was feeling there was a huge lack of satisfaction with the ou...

Re: How Long would it take to become a PRO??
Pro producer of course And By Pro I mean a designing/mixing/mastering master. I heard of the 10,000 hour rule. That seems abit too much doesn't it? I'm still in my third week of producing. I reckon 1 year to 3 years depending on the person There literally is no answer to this question. I hope you a...

Re: Improved sidechaining.
I do this all the time using FL Studio's Peak Controller. I do it a lot with melodies that occupy the same frequencies of a pad. I Just set the peak controller on the melody insert and then link it to the EQ band of the desired frequency range to create a small "valley" in the pad's freque...

Re: Whos interested in splitting the $ of Cytomic "The Glue"
Is The Glue any better than The Rocket. I mean I know there's probably no real way of saying one is better than the other but I've been thinking about dropping the 50 bucks for Rocket. I've always been a fan of the Stillwell products. I guess I could just check out the trial but I just don't have an...

Re: Baseline Keeps Draining Everything Else
Turn off the limiter or turn down the volume on the bass. Make sure you are assigning everything to a free mixer track. Most DAWs do this automatically, but not FL. It's a habit you definitely want to get used to doing. If you're like a lot of new users to FL Studio chances are you are leaving most ...

Re: How Burial made his songs in Soundforge?
Burial doesn’t use Soundforge. He uses all the equipment Kode 9 has, because Kode 9 is Burial & very clever marketing. /end of. burial's music is way different and way better than kode9's though I actually agree with this on some levels. I love a lot of Kode9's music but there's also quite a bi...

Re: Making music in a hotel
Your best bet here really is a good pair of headphones. Most hotels are pretty strict on noise policies. Trying to use any kind of decent speaker or monitor setup will most likely result in a lot of complaints from the people around you.

Re: I HAVE A PROBLEM, NEED HELP
This problem generally comes from the release being too long. Shorten the release or set it to mono as mentioned above.

Re: How Burial made his songs in Soundforge?
I thought soundforge actually had a multi-track sequencer. I downloaded a demo of it awhile ago and I'm pretty sure I saw an option for that.

Re: Ambient Backgroud Noises
Are you talking about the arpeggiated bell sound? That was actually ripped right out of Final Fantasy 7. I think the choir was to. I really don't have any advice on how to go about creating it. These kind of things really depend on what it is you are making. But if you aren't very good at creating t...

I'm glad these threads don't pop up as often as they did just a couple years ago. I think the majority of the responses will always be the same so there's no point in repeating it. As much as I love FL I do wish it came with some better plugins. Some of them are great, and IL is doing a great job im...

Re: You know you suck when...
No one even knows I make music. I think my brother knows, and maybe 1 or 2 of my friends. This is more because of my insecurity than anything though. But I also know that most of my friends would never like anything that I make cause I know what kind of music they do like. It's not really a promisin...

Re: How many MB should a final production WAV and MP3 file b
The size of the file really doesn't have anything to do with what you are doing with the song. Size is determined by bitrate. If you rendered a 58 second file of complete silence as a 320 mp3 it's about 2.2 mbs. The same 58 second 320 with sound is still 2.2 mbs. There's no correlation between how g...

Re: Where do you dig for sounds & samples?
I buy lots of sample packs. Usually I look for the kind of strange type of packs. Anything that's off the beaten path. Stuff I would never think of making in a million years. The strange thing is I don't really use them that much, but for whatever reason those are the things that inspire me the most...

The market is so saturated it's extremely difficult for an independent artist to build a decent sized ...

Re: drums intimidate me
but using any more components then a kick, a snare, one high hat or shaker, and maybe some clicks intimidates me. Then just do that and keep your drums minimal? Orrrr just get a break, nice spaced out, slower, clean break, and cut the hi-hat and ghost snares out of it and place them between your dr...
