Compression Molding?
Does anyone know if there is a way to "mold" a sine wave to a lead? Is there a way you can take a straight midi note of sub bass and literally mold it to follow a waveform's envelope, lfo and amp? Is there a technique this can be done with, perhaps a special variation of compression and li...

Re: Why do I actually need an interface?
Also, I hate Traktor with a passion. I think VDJ is honestly a better program. Though, I'm a CDJ guy, so I would have no use for that.twilitez wrote:Also, if you set it up right you can do mixes in traktor and such within minutes.

Re: Why do I actually need an interface?
The DAC inside a Saffire 6 is so much better then what you get on some generic soundblaster crap, its unbelievable. Also, it will improve your latency compared to a crap pci card whatever your system specs. But why is it better? That is what I want to know. Hearing an opinion like that doesn't conv...

Re: Why do I actually need an interface?
As Maxxan mentioned, it is hyper threaded, so it has 8 virtual cores and 4 physical cores. Good to know though, I probably wont be keeping the Focusrite. I'm probably just going to pick up a USB mixer so I can run XLR's on my 8's and my sub. Thanks for the input guys.

Why do I actually need an interface?
So I picked up a Focusrite Saffire 6 a while back thinking I would hear a sweet relief in clarity. Turns out it sounded the exact same as if I were to be running ASIO. I produce EDM, I don't live record anything besides the occasional folley sample. My laptop has an Intel i7 8-Core 3.3ghz processor ...

Re: FL Snap Troubleshooting
So basically I can't control the snap of the notes based off a master grid, only the grid it self. For example, normally selecting "none" on the snap should let you be able to move your note around off the grid freely, in my situation it still has a visible snap on the grid.

FL Snap Troubleshooting
My friend messed with my settings on Fruity Loops and now my snap isn't working as it used to. Instead of snap controlling the sensitivity in which I could stetch my notes, it now controls the size of the grid. It appears the master snap may not be working. Could someone please help me?

How do I fix this? Because to my knowledge I thought I was creating fluent enough mix downs.

-0db Limiting
Once I finish my mixdowns, I just throw a limiter on it and make it rest at -0db peak. I've run my projects through Spek and I've noticed that it is only sitting around -2db. Why is this?

Heavy Guitar Riff Wobbles
I've been attempting to create those deep, heavy, guitar riff sounding wobbles that artist like Getter, Bratkilla and KLRGRM make flawlessly. I am at a loss... I know these guys are using subtractive synthesis, but how are they able to create these incredible noises? If any of you have any tips or t...

Re: Quick DAW opinion question
I personally like Fruity Loops. It doesn't matter what DAW you use though, they all work the same but act differently. Don't let all the fan boy, opinionated, crap get to your head. Good luck man!

Re: Suggestions? Audio Interface for Logic
logic doesnt call for any special interface, its not pro tools so its practically irrelevant. i suggest the focusrite saffire 6 interface. its really good and its cheap. probably the best you can get for the money, highly recommended. edit: oops you said firewire, this one is usb. I'm going to have...

Re: Fast Responsive Bass, WITHOUT CLIPPING!
Yea I have, I just called one of my producer friends and apparently it's a Massive bug. Apparently it's not clipping, it's just massive glitching the f*** out and making a noise on the attack.

Re: Fast Responsive Bass, WITHOUT CLIPPING!
Yes I have. The only thing that helps is when I turn up the attack and release, but then it makes the sub sloppy and slow.

It still didn't work. Here's a screenshot of my wavetable in Massive and a sample of the clipping.

Re: Fast Responsive Bass, WITHOUT CLIPPING!
It's at -16db, I don't think I need to turn it down. It's not peaking, it's clipping.

Fast Responsive Bass, WITHOUT CLIPPING!
Anyone have any tips on how to create sub bass with a very fast attack and release, without any clipping? I've thrown an EQ on it and it still doesn't help. Suggestions?

Re: Sidechain Compression in Fruity Loops
Because I don't want the kick sounding wimpy in the intro, but at the same time I don't want it interfering with the sub bass.
