i think it's been done (as a proof-of-concept more than anything), but AFAIK it's too slow to be a real contender for any serious audio applications.

Re: DSF Q&A 21: Objekt

Don't think this was asked and I suppose anybody who's abelton proficient could answer this, Does abelton have an invert delay? Not ping pong, just something that delays with an inverted stereo out... if that makes sense? Does anyone use any freeware ones? set up an effect rack with a wet chain and...

uh... i don't follow. i just load up a compressor and set the sidechain input to whatever i want? in a previous post u mentioned you have devices you use a lot including a sidechain trigger. i wasn't sure if you were using another way of sidechaining, as opposed to the standard way of doin it oh, t...

what is preffered method of sidechaining? anychance you upload the instrument rack? (providing you're only using Abletons stock plugins) for any ableton users; here are some links to a couple of devices i've made recently. A mid/side eq/ analyser http://www.mediafire.com/?occ2gh98g29q8rh and a chan...

Its really cool that you can still talk with forum peons like myself even after success! XD I was wondering if you a default template for starting new tunes. Like you, I work a day job and when I get home I only have 2-3 good hours to get the creative juices flowing. I tend to start with drums, but...

Re: DSF Q&A 21: Objekt

for the 1000th time, thanks for doing this, I don't think I've ever been as pleasantly surprised to drop into the Production forum as I was when I logged in today. Hoping I'm not too late :6: 1 - almost everything is dead centre. there's quite a lot of stereo content, but this is usually through la...

Re: DSF Q&A 21: Objekt

although i have asked a few questions, i have one more. When i produce in Live i feel my mixdowns are pretty good, the levels don't clip and i can easily make out the different elements in my mixes. however, when compared to other tracks of a similar nature, mine often seem to quiter, even tho the ...

Re: autotuning samples

just out of curiousity, is there a big difference between the quality of pitch correction in Ableton Live's Complex Pro and Autotune or Melodyne? yes, melodyne makes it sound perfect, abletons is still allright, though programs like auto tune and melodyne are miles better. Am I missing something he...

Re: DSF Q&A 21: Objekt

here's two screenshots covering the sbtrkt remix. the dub and tool mixes (i.e. sbjekt01) are both from later on in the same project file but i zoomed in on the vocal mix for a bit more detail. as you can see, it's like 80% drums... 35 channels! fuck. ha. most of those are single sounds; only a coup...

Re: DSF Q&A 21: Objekt

i haven't found a use for this myself, but what to the track delays enable you to do? i notice you have many different times in those screen shots you can push the groove quite a lot by shifting certain drums backwards or forwards (mostly backwards). also if you shift the hats forward a tiny bit an...

Re: DSF Q&A 21: Objekt

you mentioned in post just now about effects sounding thin, and sounding 'ableton'. Do you have any examples of good chains to bring out each effects best features. i know that two hard clip saturators on an Analog made reese can blow anything Massive could out of the water. that's a good question....

Re: why do filters only reach 16khz? Why not 20khz?

the real question is, why the hell does it matter? It doesnt :6: ... However I am a bit confused as to what you meant by fft filter. Did a quick google search and all I could come up with is the fact that it is a filtering algorithm, which isn't really helpful a filter that works by the taking the ...

jesus christ you lot are fucking hopeless. anyone who argues that no filter can completely remove a certain frequency is (a) wrong, and (b) an insufferable pedant EDIT: :W: EDIT EDIT: maybe i should explain very technically speaking, you're basically correct that a minimum phase (analog or "ana...
