Thanks for feedback, Sharmaji, Macc & Wormcode!! :t: Especially encouraging to hear from you Macc that I'm hopefully taking many of the right precautions to get a decent mix... Of course, no one but me has heard it yet, so I hope others will think so too  Sharmaji, not sure I have any decen...

Re: Tune is -6db quieter than chosen reference tune... Is it OK?
Thanks for the feedback!! To clarify, yes I meant my peaks are hitting at -3db. Mix doesn't sound weak to me at all at comparable volume. Was just concerned about the volume difference which, yeah, when all is said & done would probably be about 3db. I'm not using any limiting because a) I want ...

Tune is -6db quieter than chosen reference tune... Is it OK?
I'm currently making a 2-step garage-type dubby tune somewhat in the vein of 'Pangaea - Router'. I say somewhat because my drums & bass have a similar feel and style but I have more melodic elements and vocal samples going on in a slightly busier Flying Lotus kind of way rather than a Pangaea mi...

Re: Need some good Dub Techno recommendations...
Thanks, northseaoil!! You know, I've actually owned Pole's first 2 CD's since original release and was never really feeling them until I re-listened over these last couple of weeks... Same as my Maurizio experience, it was like "eureka", all of a sudden I get why people have been saying th...

Eagerly awaiting my CD from Boomkat, myself... @ ASC - :t: Been following your work ever since the Open Spaces CD, really glad that your work with the Autonomic group is bringing you some well-earned & much deserved wider exposure!! BTW - Isn't this the third or fourth album you've released with...

Need some good Dub Techno recommendations...
Was listening to Maurizio 'M-Series' compilation last night... Bought it years ago but never really connected with it until last night and it really hit me like a ton of bricks!! Now I get it and I'm really loving this vibe. So I'm looking to hear some more in this vein!! Other than Basic Channel / ...

Re: Nice Breaks
FYI - If memory serves, Noisia posts & interviews in the Grid production forum on DOA indicated that, in addition to one hits, THEY DO IN FACT USE THE CLASSIC BREAKS (Amen, Skull Snaps, Funky Mule, Worm, etc.) to construct their beats. So if you're thinking that they are sourcing different break...

Re: Logic on a G4
I use Waves, PSP, Fxpansion BFD & Native Instruments plugs other than the Logic plugs... Definitely CPU struggling a bit when I use BFD or NI instruments but no issues w/ effects plugs... But keep in mind, that's probably more a function of my processor speed (only a single 1.22Ghz G4 chip) &...

Yeah, I run Logic Pro 7 on my five-year-old G4 laptop w/ OS X 10.4.11, runs pretty well... Just need to use that freeze button militantly to conserve CPU as you add tracks & plugs...

Re: Cosmogramma
OK, I've been listening to it over and over again for awhile now and I really think this is one of the most profoundly beautiful albums I have heard in many many years in any genre!! I want to listen to it everywhere I go (and lord knows I've tried)... But, in my opinion, it is introspective music a...
