Re: Dungeon Drums Processing

I'm assuming you're talking about snares... anyway its all about picking the right layers, if you don't have the right samples to begin with then no amount of processing is going to make them sound right. I typically go for 3 samples if i'm making a nice big snare - one with lots of punch at around ...

Re: i7 over i5

I've got an i5 and it handles everything i've thrown at it. It's 3.4ghz. You will notice minor gains in performance with an i7. If you're prepared to overclock though it levels the playing field, my mate has an i5 running at 4.5ghz which is insane.

Re: Snares

Also one other thing... rimshots are often just really intense flashes of noise. You can get good results by recording yourself hitting things like pots, pans, pieces of wood etc. As someone else mentioned KM are known to have done this. I once made a tasty rimshotty snare by hitting the drum of a w...

Re: Snares

You'll definitely be wanting some rimshot samples to get that sound man! Try and find some free packs, Computer Music CDs are often a good source. Great thing about using rimshots is that they are simple to put into your tune, they require very little layering and often you can just chuck it in with...

Re: Underground Dubstep In London

Easy mate. Theres not really too much going on in Croydon these days, HOWEVER, as you are coming in August you could be in luck and there might actually be 2 events happening that month. I co-run Croydon Basslift, a newish night that we are putting on quarterly, previously having booked Hatcha, N-T...

7 wheels for this? Expected a bit more, like the twinkly percs but the rest just sounds like an Elmo Riddim knock off http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEamGIXkEwc I don't really get the hype around this. It's not for me. It's literally dripping in reverb to the point where it sounds all wishy-washy. ...

Re: Producer called Compa

Regardless of my opinions on his music... I've dealt with Will a couple of times in the past. It's not really my place to go into detail here, but its safe to say I never want to work with him ever again, in any way. On a serious note though, this is a bad habit. I would never call out on acts I bo...

Re: Dubturbo... Oh god its back

The best thing about the whole DubTurbo thing is the insane lengths they've gone to in order to convince people it is a genuinely wicked bit of kit. If you google "DubTurbo Reviews" all you get is pages and pages of fake blog articles, fake reviews and fake video testemonials all saying it...
