What are stems?
Hi, I know this is a really amateur question. I probably know what it is, I've just never heard the terminology before. What is a stem file? I want to know because I asked my friend if he would like to remix one of my songs and he said he would need the stem files, I asked him what they were and he ...

Re: Samples and External Drives
Thanks everyone for the feedback
I think I put my samples on the external disk then. I'm going to try something new and copy the disk to the cloud too just so that they are in 2 places in case something happens

Samples and External Drives
As many people here I'm sure know, samples have a tendency to take up a lot of space on your computer's drive. I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to keep samples on a seperate external drive or if they are best being kept on the internal drive. Is there anyone that stores their samples externa...

Logic Pro Help: 2 software inst. play when key struck
Hi everyone I'm new to Logic. I kind of want to cut my teeth with the program and create a new song in it but I have one small question before I proceed with the song. I have Reason rewired into Logic and I'm running Native Instruments' Maschine as a plug in. I want to use some of Maschine's sampled...

Logic Users I Need Your Help
Hey! Recently a friend of mine bought me Logic Pro and I'm trying to figure out how to use it. I come from a Pro Tools background so learning a brand new software is a bit difficult but also exciting. I don't know how to accurately articulate my problem in text so I recorded a video of what I need h...

Re: I need help isolating vocals from a song
I heard somewhere that if you have the instrumental, you can invert the phase then layer it with the original track and the result would be the bare vocal as the rest of it would cancel out. I have never tried it. Yes that is what I was doing. Thinking on it though I don't think the waveforms match...

Hi I'm working on a song right now and in parts of my song I wanted to put vocal samples from another song in but I am having trouble isolating the vocals from the song. I have an instrumental and the whole song, and I tried the invert one and line them up to kill the music but I was having trouble ...

Amen Break
Hey. I'm kind of new to producing and I was wondering how to do this because I don't know how. I am a sample of the amen break and I also have an amen style break that i learned to program online. My question is (especially in regards to the sample) how would I use it in a song? Do I have to cut the...

Music tends to only have a fashion when dealing with rock or certain electronic genres like certain forms of trance and dark electronic genres like industrial or aggrotech or dark wave or something either that or some visual kei Japanese electronica. The seems to attract cybergoths while the latter ...
