Re: Here to become an ARTIST, not a copycat. PLEASE HELP!!!
AAAAAAAaaaaanyways, as has been said, there's no shortcut to hard work and dedication. However, there are a few companies putting out some solid tutorials that aren't "some 12 year old" who doesn't know a compressor from a limiter. Soooo, in no particular order, peep tuts from Ask Video, A...

Re: CPU Bogging down despite trying EVERYTHING
Oh, Avast Boot time scan, Kaspersky TDSSKiller, Adaware, MalwareBytes, you know, like I said, I ran great scans. Not the issue here. Hard drive is really quite full and in the red though...

Re: CPU Bogging down despite trying EVERYTHING
It is a USB interface, and yes, the other two slots are taken up by my mouse and my external HDD, or sometimes my M-Audio Oxygen8 Keyboard, depending on my mood. Not really an option to not use these slots. I have adjusted Vista myself, without any guides, but there could be things I've missed, so I...

Re: CPU Bogging down despite trying EVERYTHING
I've got the buffer set at maximum latency, it's not settings. I'm just gonna buy a desktop with windows 7. How does everyone feel about compatibility with 64 bit systems regarding VST/VSTi? Looking at snagging up this one: brand new HP Compaq 6005 Pro, AMD B95 Phenom IIX4 Quad core 3.0Ghzx4 process...

CPU Bogging down despite trying EVERYTHING
I bounce everything. I freeze things I don't have the heart to bounce. I turn off unused vsti/vst, I have my latency set all the way up (max latency), I and my cpu still bogs down early. Running Vista 32 bit. I have a duo core, 2.0ghz processor, I have 3 gigs of ram, multicore processing is enabled ...

Re: Is an external soundcard important?
True windows driver for tascam can be buggy.. my mac has had 0 problems at all. If you have 50 tracks you need to be freezing them anyway. Oh, they're frozen. Or resampled/bounced to audio. Maybe my compie just sucks, but regardless of what I try, my cpu gets bogged down toward the end of producing...

Re: Help Me Make That Sound - August 2011
I'd really like to make the timewarp/record slow-down then back to original speed sound found at 6 seconds in to this track. Bounce then sampler & pitchbend with a little filter action? I really dunno...

Re: Is an external soundcard important?
I use the Tascam US144 mentioned above, and you're right about the RCA's. I just use cables that are RCA to 1/4", and it seems to work fine. The nice thing about having an external soundcard is that it frees up your internal for other things (Like watching tutorials while producing, doing A/B t...

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Oh, and I only have 3 usb ports on my lappy, which tend to fill up fast in the studio. Got the midi controller/keyboard, wireless mouse, audio interface, and potentially the external HDD. So, I wanna get one of those powered usb busses. The ones that plug into the wall so they don't draw too much po...

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
i highly recommend a cooling tray for your laptop, those things can really extend the life of your laptop as can not moving it when it's on but who ever listens to that one lol. you don't need to worry bout things like asio4all if you're running on mac, afaik the default music drivers for macs are ...

All I need. http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/1817/img4399m.jpg Do you just tap in all your notes with your mouse on the piano roll then? or do you use your computer's qwerty keyboard to play em? or both? I'm just curious, cuz I sometimes do both of those methods and sometimes use my midi controll...

Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
I.E. always above the x axis or whatever. It is always modulating equally above and below the x axis, which is kinda wack, considering how easy it'd be to include such a feature. What's the x axis here? The current value of what ever is being modulated? Oh, i read this wrong. I could've been much m...

Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
Well, an LFO usually has the option to affect whatever it's modulating positively, negatively, or some combination of both. (I.E. making the cutoff on the filter go either up, down, or up and down.) THIS LFO, well, it only has one setting, modulating the source both positively and negatively equally...

Re: Native Instruments Razor (new 'filth' plugin)
Ahhh, went back to Lazerbass and like you say, I understand it much better now that I've experimented with Razor, however, Razor's layout is still WAY more user friendly and tweakable. And I even still have gripes about that. Where's the option to adjust how positive or negative the lfo affects the ...

I believe he uses a lot of Rob Papen's Albino. Wouldn't be surprised if that's what he was using here as well.
