Re: The Logic Q&A Thread

maybe it's a stupid question but... is there a gater in logic? i don't mean the spectralgate, a proper gater-effect like in traktor. gating is an integral part of my on-the-fly remixing stuff in traktor, so whenever i start up logic and work on tunes i miss having one :(

Re: korg padkontrol opinions / alternatives?

now i've never used the padkontrol but you shouldn't judge korg for the nano series. or maybe you should judge THEM but not their other products  the nano series is a pile of plastic junk, but it's supposed to be like that. i mean look at the price! those things are for starters (controller-wi...

Re: Setting up a shoutcast station?

obviously you need a server first ;)
and be sure to use shoutcast, i've been streaming on icecast and it's a pain in the ass to configure it on mac
also having metadata embedded into your website, shiny buttons to play it directly in your browser, all that.

Re: Sub rumble

http://soundcloud.com/static_cast/mini-bounce-for-dsf sounds cool, tho it sounds a bit like sine + lfo on pitch to me (maybe you applied that on it? :?: ) now who am i to bitch about it, but i think it's not 100% rumbly.... i imagine rumbly more like the bass from a truck driving past your house (f...

Re: Gabber kick variants

got bad news for you, i've got the coroner's toxicology report right here in my hand. breakcore's as dead as trip hop. bin saying that since '08 :D too bad, really... it was the first genre that made me completely fall in love with music and start producing, but it all turned into a putrid pile of ...

Re: Gabber kick variants

for gabber kicks in general: DON'T take a drum sample and overdrive it. that's corny as fuck. if you want those screechy gnarly kicks, take a square wave and assign a pitch envelope etc, it's explained in the thread recessive trait linked. feel free to add more oscillators with other waves and play ...

Re: Help me decide what software get?

hey there i'd say stick to logic. until recently i've been in your situation, doodling around with the knobs not knowing wtf they are and i thought i was good enough doing it (well good enough for breakcore at least  ). then i read a lot of threads on this forum and found this in the logic Q&a...
