Re: Keep sub at same volume
google "room nodes" a good test might be to step clean sine waves down by semitones from c3 to approximate the response at the listening position. then repeat the test in decent headphones to see where the responses dont match. you'll still have the headphones' response (and the Fletcher-...

Re: dn-s3500
I've got a DN-S3500 and a DN-HS5500 in my home setup, but the plates act around the same. I'm no turntablist, but I've spent a decent amount of time doing basic mixing on vinyl, and can tell you that it doesn't FEEL like vinyl, so don't expect that if that's what you're shooting for. The active plat...

Re: Headphones: Are they suitable to produce with?
I produce in headphones a lot! I always check my mixdowns on other systems and the headphones don't seem to be the best for checking the levels in your mix, as others have already said, but I was surprised by how much I started to sometimes prefer headphones when banging out a tune.

Have you tried http://glitchhopforum.com/ ? lolol. Legit site, and the production board is pretty awesome if a little quiet, the Q&A with Freddy Todd before Christmas was pretty good, once he responded (page 2); http://glitchhopforum.com/glitch-hop-production/glitch-production-tips-with-freddy-...

Re: How low is TOO low?
30 hz is a bit too low. The best bass weight is achieved at F and the tones around it. G and E are good too. I don't want to call it a rule... but this is the basic suggestion that I usually try to follow. With that said, I pumped out a song in C recently, and it definitely felt a lot lighter as fa...

Re: massive monophon/monorotate
Easiest way for me to explain this is using a simple example. Using legato, if you're holding E, then press down G while still holding E, massive will slide up to G, but if you let go of G, rather than Massive simply going back to playing the E, you'll have to re-articulate it. With triller on, when...

Re: Bassline arrangement?
I have a terribly hard time thinking of bro-y basslines that people seem to be really into nowadays; my brain just doesn't work like that. But from the few successes I've had, I'd say a few things to help make sure you get basses that mesh well, is start with just one patch you like. Get a bit of a ...

Glad to see people sharing knowledge like this. I'd love to go back to my theory classes and relearn everything. I need to brush up.
