Re: Wrong frequency?
Maybe not. It's the harmonics that give each instrument it's unique sound.ezza wrote:But surely the fundamental frequency should always be the loudest?

Re: Headphones: Hd800/LDC's Worth it?
So I've been mixing on k712's and dt770's and I now have some money to buy hd800's or lcd's, I absolutely LOVE headphones and have dreamed about the hd800's for quite sometime (just look at some of the custom paint jobs! https://www.google.com/search?q=colorware+hd800+gallery&safe=off&biw=1423&bih ...

Re: Headphones: Hd800/LDC's Worth it?
Cylopian why not?
lets say your headphones/monitors have a dip around the 800hz range, if you boost 800hz on your master to even the frequency response then what happens to people that that don't have a 800hz dip on their playback system? There will be boost in the 800hz range for them, but for ...

just noise
That is what I think about 99% of modular videos...like if you want to just noodle and make noise...its cool...but I'd love to see someone actually make something we can all agree is a song ;p

Lol this old question is still cropping up. No, macs aren't better than PCs, /thread.

Reason is better
Agree with that. I dont use Massive, because i think that it overused. Especially Scrap Yard, Carbon and Modern Talking wt.
And saw/square/sine waves aren't overused?
uh forgive me. but aren't we a little bit constricted by what sound waves can do...
I was just pointing out ...

Someone commented on it basically saying its just a sly ...

The VST sandboxing is a great feature, it stops a bad plugin from crashing your project. I no longer have to remember to save every few minutes like I did in Cubase.

Re: so what happened with bitwig then?
We're currently waiting on the 1.1 patch, which will add midi routing, proper sidechaining and a ton of other features. It's taking a while, but they said it should be within the next month.
So far it's pretty impressive, it has a ton of features that aren't available elsewhere and works nicely ...

Re: Large sample library - does it cause crashing in Ableton
If its crashing on loading a project file, its almost certainly a plugin that you've used in the project file.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Although doesn't Ableton usually disable bad plugins when they cause it to crash?
OP you might be better off contacting Ableton support for this ...

Using Live 9 suite on WIndows 8 (Bruh, i know. Shit isn't it)
I installed StartIsBack and find that Windows 8 is pretty good now. It's just a slightly improved Windows 7 once you get rid of that awful Metro mess.
Starting to crash alot. I have about half of my memory filled up on my HDD so that ...

Re: Arranging multiple synths in Ableton
Try Bitwig Studio, it has layered editing: http://bitwigtutorials.net/tutorials/ge ... iting.html

I don't think you can do this in Ableton. You could always bounce to audio and chop it up though?

Re: Noob but technical question/collab
Automate everything, be real precise about it. Learn a couple of synths inside out, don't overcomplicate things at first. Each time you add an effect make sure it has a positive change on the sound.
