Re: Help with eq and frequency analyzer

@op You want to put your spectrum analyzer on the master buss. That way you can see everything going on without having to add a new analyzer to each track. With the EQ part, isn't Ozone a mastering eq? Anyways, the best way to find out what frequencies you want to boost is by using a steep peak filt...

Unfortunately, no.

It is the only reason for me keeping windows on my pc.

Audio 2 dj works perfectly though.

Re: Skrillex assistance. NO, this is not about bass or leads

Vengeance essential club vol 3 or really any sample pack from them has "skrillex snares" Pretty much its just a snare that punches around 200hz. If you wanna be clever you can pull snares from an Amen, 909, TC amen, whatever, and layer/compress/eq and you might come up with something close...

Re: Good cheap usb soundcards to buy?

+1for the saffire 6. I can plug my guitar right into it and the latency is reeeaalll good. I also like the headphone jack and all the volume control knobs :) I think I paid $200 for it at sam ash. The ableton version it comes with is garbage. You can't do shit with it because it is so limited. The v...

Re: Multiband-Compression on Master Track [Question]

Thanks for all the comments guys. I forgot to mention that I knew kinda what a MB compressor was but just not how it worked. I just wanted to know if general mixes needed them to sound good but wrigzilla summed it up quite nicely. @Moki I use the linMB. Seems pretty nice except for the fact that I h...

Multiband-Compression on Master Track [Question]

I'll keep it short.

- I have no idea how to use one or what it does
- Got the waves one
- Comes with an "electro" preset

Question is.... is MB compression required? Would it help my mix? Or should I just not use it at all?

Re: drum samples

I found this sample pack recently http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/andy-sneap/529782-sharing-my-collection-drum-samples-here.html which has some fantastic snares, toms and cymbals (it's a metal sample pack so the kicks are far more clicky than I like but some of them are usable). Great link man t...

Re: Atmosphere?

Maybe a synth pad (low passed super saw pad etc) or some atmospheric loops or something.

One shots with a lot of delay and reverb can also create some nice atmospheres.

Re: Time it takes

That's the cool part about production. There is not really a time limit in order to finish. We make music, not cars. Its not really an exact since but I can tell you from experience that I have read countless forum posts, tutorials, pdf's, magazines, etc. and I still don't know what the heck I'm doi...

Re: Is it time to move on from FLStudio?

I heard rusko uses albino 3.... :D and op all daws pretty much use the same audio engine(cept maybe protools and sonar which can output 64bit floating point) so it doesn't matter if you switch to LoopDj2 or Ableton live. Crap in, crap out. Massive, imho, is crap because 99% of brosteppers use it and...

Re: Deep bass with 3xOsc?

You can turn the CRS knob all the way down to -24 as well. Some people like to layer a triangle wave or square wave 12 semitones higher as well too. This is lowpassed. Just be aware of some phazing issues that may occur using 2 sine ways on top of each other. Either switch to a different waveform or...

Re: Need some help with mix levels

Ah ok I get your point with classical music as each instrument has their own range (I'm assuming the overtones don't cause too much of a problem here but anyways..) I've also come to realize that my room is not the most ideal for master. I use a pair of KRK 5''s on auralex pads with a couple auralex...
