Re: So just how awful is that new Photek tune?
I love it. sure it's not the tunes he was making 10 years ago, but why would he? i certainly don't. typical thing though isn't it, if he'd rocked up with 'modus operandi pt2' people would be slating his lack of vision, so he turns up with something new and it's all 'oh he's lost it now'. like the d...

Re: F Minor G minor A Minor
i recently put lots of dubstep tracks into playlists separated by key. there are a shit ton of D,E,F,F#,G and all that but weirdest of all VERY little C# minor out of every key. only Rusko - Pro Nails i think well, C# is at 32.7hz and again at 69.3hz, so I think 32 is lower than most people feel co...

Re: F Minor G minor A Minor
Dunno about D being the saddest of them all lol, could be, not knocking the idea. Different scales do have different feels of course, sometimes the same scale on a different note can have a slightly different feel, but I think the scale makes a lot more difference than the root you play it on. D is ...

"DEGO: If you can capture that groove, it doesn't matter what kind of equipment you have. That's what's great about this electronic revolution, it makes music accessible for everyone. When it comes down to the nitty-gritty, we all use cracked copies of Logic, or Reason or even Pro-Tools. We all...

In The Shadows - these cases where transplant patients feel the 'souls' of the donors could never happen. The neurons in organs & limbs are ones which are made to sense the chemical environment (inside and out) which relay the information to the brain, the other neurons are the effectors which ...

Re: We All Know That We Are An Amalgamation of Trillions ofC
Conciousnesses could be shifted anywhere, like your hand, if you think about it long enough. You become the hand etc. Most of the time we miss the cue Wouldn't even say im concious 2% of the time.. from Oxford Dictionary.. consciousness noun * 1 [mass noun] the state of being aware of and responsiv...

Re: We All Know That We Are An Amalgamation of Trillions ofC
There is no "one cell to rule them all", all of our cells form a community that thinks and acts together, simultaneously, it is this community that we refer to as, "consciousness". Im not sure that holds up though, you can cut off your arms, legs, remove untold internal organs a...

Re: Food for thought.
So ive been sitting here the last few days, listening to my body of work across multiple genres and bpm and I always seem to push my dubstep stuff. So it made me think, do I only push my dubstep and make dubstep more than other genres because I have a some-what established name in this scene? In an...

Re: Producing in 24 bit
I work in 24 bit, my samples are mostly from dvds at 24bit, 48,000hz, any bounces I make from synths are also at that res, my soundcards playback is set to 48,000, same with the settings in reason and ableton. Ableton becomes grinding with those rates by the time youve got 30/40 tracks of audio goin...

Re: Why sample?
it's about how you use samples, not their source unless you're a lazy fucker who commits musical tsecni within their own genre theres a truth to that, if you manage a sample well it doesnt matter where it came from, no one will know. Im a sample snob though, I spend forever ripping my own samples a...

Re: UV (violet/blue) laser pointers and reactive t-shirts
get yourself some decent acid, itll last 12 hours and you wont need the paint, the laser or the blacklight. Theres something about long term insainity in the small print but I wouldn't sweat it.
