Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010

@Vacant: "sensei puff"... DAAAAAAAAMN! lovin' this one big time. The rise near the beginning sounds like one long inhale... worked like a charm. Also, excellent choice of snare... somehow, i think if it had a big, long, verby snare, it would make it sound all cheesy. but your drums are spo...

Re: Eskmo - Cloudlight (Dubstep, IDM, Glitch)

I've been listening to this one over and over, drawing lots of inspiration from it. I'd like to try my hand at Eskmo-style perc's & rhythms. Big fan!

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010

@ Sir E Coke: put this up on youtube with a cut up & sync'd version of the video clip and you're going viral, sir. Maybe even to rival dubstep santa. Godspeed. :D: Try to give some feedback before posting your own tunes. It's likely you'll have some flames come your way. You and only you can pre...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010

@Bass Sedation: Thanks for the insight, I most definitely need to turn up the sub. I wish I hadn't just returned my rented monitors :6: Your track is crunchy as hell, and you are definitely playing to my attention span. There's so much business going on with all the sounds, but it comes off as being...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010

Hey, so I got some flames when I posted my track as its own thread earlier. I'M SORRY TO WHOM I HAVE OFFENDED BY BEING A BIG NOOB. I'd like a second chance. I have read your charters and constitutions and I think I know now how to properly conduct myself. I listened to some tracks and I have prepare...

Figured out sidechain compression, came up with this.

Soundcloud

inspired somehow by Eskmo, Kode9, and The Lord of the Rings.

I'm going to use this emoticon because it's new, fresh, and ethnically inaccurate. :m:

Librarian, Pinch, & Daega Sound in Van City

Took the trip from Kamloops to Vancouver to see these three amazing people do their thing at the M2 Storyeum in Gastown on Friday night... absolutely stellar. Librarian blew my mind with some really fresh stuff, including some future-garage and really forward sounding tracks to tickle my brain. Pinc...

Re: Do u still like the songs u liked bak when u 1st met dbstep?

i got on with dubstep listening to burial, then some hatcha mixes, which included distance, vex'd, milanese, pinch... into skream & benga too, but not as much actually as some others. n-type & l-wiz were huge for me too. after a while of listening to all that, i went through a period of real...

Re: I enjoy kick - 1, snare - 3

it'd be worthwhile to note that with these "1/3" rhythms there's a lot more going on than just a kick and snare.

I think stripped down 1/3, i just hear Skream's Rumble Inna Station wobbling around my brainbox.

Compression, "sidechaining(?)" & synths

Someone posted this in Dubstep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et9xnH7EViY can anyone give me a rundown of how to make the synth cut out and fade back in like that everytime there's a kick? it's a cool effect... I saw Distance in Vancouver recently and I hear this track where the same effect was app...
