typically on a normal kick the 'punch' in the sub is right around 80-90 Hz, if you have some way of splitting your sub by frequency, you can just sidechain duck the bit that is around there, if you adjust it right its almost unnoticeable and still allows for the kick to punch through. @ remokari ~ I really like the bass preview track, sounds clean and mean, would be great for so many high energy activities

Yours was one of the first tracks I heard upon discovering this site and I loved it the first time I heard it, and still do. I can't think of anything I would do to improve it.

Thank you for your help, I have posted the screenshots over there. I would be happy to transpose any of the resulting troubleshooting if you think it would be a good resource for anyone else. From the sound of it though, this is not a common issue. FML.
