Re: Different Growl

Oh and mess around with following the pitch bend with the vowel EQ. Can get some pretty interesting results.

Re: Question about arranging

ambience, arp or white noise at the drop will help a lot. also stick your main bass sounds in a bus and apply some effects (like the same type of saturation, reverb etc.) on that bus. that should really help to glue them together a bit more.

Re: Help with a particular sound

Yeah I'd say a similar bass would be possible in massive with double notch filter + heavy saturation/distortion and vowel EQ.

Re: When and when not to use mono?

Kicks and sub will obviously be mono most of the times. I usually also take out anything under 250-200hz on the side channels. Can really clear things up in the mix.

Re: ILL-ONE Calm - (Grime / Dubstep)

I like it very much. All elements fit nicely and the mix sounds fine to me. Like someone else said already, a bit more variation would be nice.

Re: Struggling to come up with everything but the chorus?

I like designing sounds/instruments just for the bridge. Then continue to use that instrument every once in a while from then on in the song. Doing a complex evolving pads/atmo stuff can be cool too for a bridge. For versus, try starting with beat and bassline change ups. Yeah, I design some sounds...

Re: studio headphones

Well might be a very mainstream suggestion but I got the ATH-M50s as well and they sound incredible to me. However, I don't have any previous experience with other good quality headphones but I know their sound well and I can produce well on them. My room setup is less than ideal, so you can really ...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread

The thing is just that modern talking was so overused and it's really easy to spot when it's used without a shitton of external processing.

Re: Intellitard - Third Eye Gangstas

Production is really absolutely great. All the Elements sound so clear! o.O
Very very interesting and unique stuff. Musically it absolutely intrigues me!
The main synth sounds sound a taaaad dry to me though, but that might just be my presonal preference! ^_^

Re: Umea - Gengar (Heavy)

Very nice track. Sounds like you spent some time modulating that beast!
Really nice sound design and overall good mixdown in my opinion. I would only like to see some more variation in the hihats and maybe some playing with the stereo field on them.
But overall I really really enjoyed it!

REFLUX - Burst Of Color [Future Bass/Dubstep]

Hi guys, just wanted to know what you think of this track as a whole in terms of atmosphere and production value. I was trying to make something more melodic than what I am used to but still keep somewhat of an impact and actually started to look into music theory finally. Well, tell me what y...

Re: Zomboy Sound Design Cracked?

Mod osc phase 16 semitones up and an envelope 1/4 of the way gave me really nice results. I will post an example tomorrow!
