Re: any1 kno any good riddim style bass tutorials for reason
"Riddim style bass" haha :u: I can't wait to hear the next word American people jump on, completely misuse and ruin I realise this sounds really complainy but actually I just find it funny that the meaning of the word can become so distorted It's like when everybody started calling a speci...

Re: Is Trash 2 worth the money?
Some people buy plugins purely because if they didn't, there is no incentive for developers and companies to come up with new and innovative ways of processing audio to give new and innovative edges to music and sound design. If somebody like you ran the country we'd be down the pan in a year! I wen...

Re: London collab??
Always up for a collab! :R: Where abouts do you live? As Turnipish Thoughts said, Monkixx (Steve) who I’ve met up with before is another one who is always up for it and your tunes would fit in really well with his label (Route 1 Audio). Take a listen to my stuff (most my good/releasable tunes aren’t...

Re: Muscian's Friend Blowing Out Nord Drum Synthesizers 99US
Yeah I'm not sure I'm hugely into the sound either but it'd be fun for playing around with mates and also I just bought a house and I think it'd look pretty sitting in my studio

Re: Different Aliases
i think that the way you 'brand' yourself or the aesthetic you create is pretty important. if you look at jon gooch, he has different aliases for different genres and each alias has its own feel, character and brand. now, he is a very talented and legendary producer, but i believe that the smartest...

Re: Mixing overheads- Noisia, Break, DLR, Octane style
Overheads are microphones placed above the kit. They capture more of a “room” sound than the mics which are placed next to the drums. It’s pretty much the equivalent of using tight reverb and mixing that into the dry signal. You use it in the same way that you would any send effect. Get the drum sou...

Re: Music distribution / free tunes
Yeah think that might be a problem with the mobile app or website as the link to bandcamp is in the players 'buy' button as well as in the description, but not in the title. And thanks. I use a different synth almost every time haha. Any specific track? I need your love was FM8 and then resampled i...

Different Aliases
I wanted your opinion on using different aliases / producer names. I have my Ascian name which has built up quite a following online... 800k views on YouTube etc. My issue is that I've never sent anything to labels and now I've built up a bit of a mess of different genres of music on my Soundcloud e...

Re: Music distribution / free tunes
Just as a word of warning... Your Clubfoot tune on Soundcloud still says "Free Download" in the name. Not sure if it's actually still up for download as just on my phone but it's probably a good idea to remove the download function and put a link to Bandcamp in the description. What synths...

Here's my newest. Looking for recommendations on how to "finish" it off and any general comments on the track and mixing (mix not complete). https://soundcloud.com/ascian-1/cyborg-onslaught dotcurrency - Really like the use of samples in the intro and the kick is a really subtle but good d...

Here is my track. Just about finished! Let me know what you think - mainly want to know how it sounds on your system please https://soundcloud.com/ascian-1/rule-the-world Alexandercunningham - Really like that! Really good authentic hip hop vibe but mixed with modern trap elements. Love it. Can imag...

don't know what you guys think of house/deep house, but ive been working on the housey vibe lately, loving it, trying to transfer my love of deep minimal atmospherics into house production.. Been experimenting with 3/4 timings - two songs to listen to :) https://soundcloud.com/ascian-1/untitled https://soundcloud.com/ascian-1/rapture Mthrfnk – love your signature track. Very well mixed, melodies all work well together and it creates a good sense of anticipations before the drop. Drop it...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
Just wanted to chime in, just saw this section of the forum. this is a big tune mate, kick drum seems a bit washed out but sounds and beats are great, will be a great tune when done and mixed down Thanks mate - definitely having trouble with the mixdown on this one as there's so many tracks and lay...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
Here is mine: https://soundcloud.com/ascian-1/beyond-recognition @Coolschmid : Very well shaped sound - I love the bass sound and the slow pitched riser in the background. Very bouncy - very fun. Melody in the breakdown is nice and I like the low passed sound leading back toward the high energy sect...

Re: Freq. specific sidechain(peak controlling)
It is a lot easier than all these suggestions... Just stick any multiband compressor with a sidechain input on the track you want to compress - restrict one of the bands to 170 - 220 Hz (to taste) and aim it at the snare track!

Re: Reverb: During Production VS Mixdown?
It's pretty simple really. If the reverb is going to be a "feature" of the sound and is part of the sound design process (will usually be longer reverbs, say over 1 second) then incorporate it into your production work. Any other use of reverb, whether it be gluing, ambience, moving back i...
