Re: So who actually cuts dubplates?
Don't think there is much point in cutting dub plates now except for self satisfaction of owning one. Shame really, always been a big advocate of Vinyl.

Re: what do you do when u can't be arsed to produce
This fucking thread  But I admittedly wish I had a few more mates as well. I've been living by myself and been a virtual recluse for the better part of a year, to the point where creativity has pretty much consumed my life. If I don't produce I do other creative shit, mainly writing prose or r...

Re: Looking To Get a Mixer
I am looking into getting a Mixer, for when I play live, but I had a few questions concerning what to get.. First off, I know what a mixer does, and for what purpose I need it for, so don't flame me, for my under knowledgeable questions.. (Okay, well I think I understand the purpose of one.. It's f...

Re: what do you do when u can't be arsed to produce
Well I have just had my usual 4/5/6 month break from it all. No point in forcing something that isn't happening. Even the pros don't consistently bang their heads against the wall they go off touring/DJ'ing or just generally take a break from making tunes.

Re: How do you go about learning synthesis?
I searched the forum for this, but only could find tutorials for specific soft synths. How would one go about learning the technical aspect? I would assume just trial and error. 10% internet searching, 10% brainwaves away from the computer, 80% trial and error. You can read as much as you want but ...

This pretty much in my opinion.serox wrote:Put nothing at all on the master is my advice. I would only ever put a limiter on the master if I wanted to send to a CD to play out.

Re: Writers Block?
I've had it for a while in fairness... While I haven't had any ideas I haven't sat in my studio to make anything for longer than 15 minutes at a time. One day you'll get an idea, a few things click then you'll go on a roll of churning a few bangers out... And repeat. this has always happened with me...

Re: The extremely embarrasing basic question thread
how do u get a wobble bass to have a sub bass under it? im using fl studio and massive like i wanna hear my wobble melody but also have my car shake Assuming this is a genuine question as this is probably one of the most basic here: You have two options: 1) Open up a 3xosc, make your normal sub bas...

Re: Ever feel like giving up?
It's frustrating sometimes. I feel like I'll never have a decent career as an artist sometimes though I work so hard to improve my craft. But there are times where I get no support from Anyone. It's really discouraging. I just got a whole new setup for producing but now I just want to take it back....

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
In my ever so humble opinion, I'd like it if people would stop dismissing everything that isn't the classic seriously lowpassed reese... Neurofunk Reeses have been round for a very, very long time now. Infact, I'm willing to put a fair bit of money on the fact Neurofunk reeses have been around a lot...

Re: if you could tell noob producer you one thing
I would tell myself to stop you tubing and googling and just read the manual. I disagree because a lot of the youtube videos (providing you find the right ones) are a lot easier to interpret than long winded manuals. Infact I'd go as far as recommend looking at Youtube videos to learn some stuff as...

Don't expect miracles over night, put in the leg work and LEARN music theory and LEARN about your DAW and LEARN some of the essential more technical aspects of producing. No matter however naturally talented you are, it will be an absolutely miracle for you to stumble into making a tune good enough ...

Two ways... Either after fiddling with Synths and when testing the noises I accidentaly stumble upon something that works or like most I'l lay down 8 to 16 bars of drums down and go from there.

Get yourself a copy of Edirol Orchestral... Nicest Piano sound I have with probably the nicest strings I have also. Amazing plug-in.
