Well I have just had my usual 4/5/6 month break from it all. No point in forcing something that isn't happening. Even the pros don't consistently bang their heads against the wall they go off touring/DJ'ing or just generally take a break from making tunes.

I searched the forum for this, but only could find tutorials for specific soft synths. How would one go about learning the technical aspect? I would assume just trial and error. 10% internet searching, 10% brainwaves away from the computer, 80% trial and error. You can read as much as you want but ...

Two ways... Either after fiddling with Synths and when testing the noises I accidentaly stumble upon something that works or like most I'l lay down 8 to 16 bars of drums down and go from there.

Get yourself a copy of Edirol Orchestral... Nicest Piano sound I have with probably the nicest strings I have also. Amazing plug-in.
