Re: Granular synthesis...
I've always had a hardt ime getting a nice sound with enough tone that I'd want to use from granular synth. It seems like the more you want to do with a sound the more flat and fizzy it sounds in the end. I got alchemy just sittin there. Probably just need a lot more work at it, but I get the same k...

Re: free hardware samples (updated)
http://www.mediafire.com/?1pxz89gfiq8ftyu this is a collection from 9 popular analog synthesisers, of recorded fragments from single oscillators. They're all in C I believe, several octaves each, the loop seamlessly in a sampler, so great for building blocks. They all have to be looped though, but y...

Re: Heavyweight Synths
I use logic as my DAW and treat ableton live as a big as sampler/synth, making that my heavyweight. Its usually just running a big stack of Eq'd samplers. Its just so easy to layer and effect samples in there, and then use my other, better 3rd party effects. Some might not consider that synthesis, b...

Re: Multiband Compression in Fruity Loops (for sound design)
Can't tell what you are looking to do here. I think im missing part of the conversation. But If i wanted to have a sound that went through a multiband compressor be able to start at the sound I had going, I would set up two different effect channels, whatever fl calls them, with the exact same compr...

Re: anyone know any rtas or vst modulation filters?
the sugar-bytes Wow plug-in is really sick. has a mean bite, alot of control, and my favorite: it can be triggered by the input signal i.e. it can start at the same point of the wobble without automation, no matter when it is played. ableton Live's autofilter can't do this for instance.. which is re...

Re: Guitar Pedal Thread
http://www.rectangular.org/explosions/images/content/gear/Electro-Harmonix_Russian_Big_Muff.jpg I had the russian one. It's missing a kind of rattling bite that the other one has, which was ok because my shitty crate stack couldn't handle it. http://www.musicmatterslisburn.com/media/catalog/product...

Re: Fun with bass enhancers?
I worked at a studio and they recorded bass tracks out of the mixer to old amps and broken effects, into a mic, back into the board. adding color etc. There are way easier ways of achieving what you might be looking for, unless of course you're looking for the unexpected. The only thing I'd be caref...

Re: Ableton Crisis!
I'm using a crack because I'm poor, stuck in florida with my parents, recovering from a drug problem. I'm on all these new meds so I haven't started working because they are making me crazy, then I have to save up money to get the hell out of here. I am the type of person who buys software. I purcha...

Ableton Crisis!
Is there anyone who has a newer version of Ableton Live than 8.1? I'm getting "Invalid Product ID" on this DJ set I've been tweeking for days. Now I'm really tweeking! If there's anyone who could download, open this set for me, delete the effects from track four, save it, and send it back ...

Ableton Multiple Hi-Hat Rack w/Stereo Effect w/Wet Dry effec
So I've been using and abusing this site for the past couple of weeks, so I feel I should give some back. What I have here is an Instrument rack that can be dropped into a single drum rack pad. I wanted to combine several hats together in a way that would give me substantial play over different part...
