can anyone explain to me how to record a dj set using an iMic?

i'm using it because when I record my mixes straight through the computer it comes out all crackly and bleepy.

if it helps i am using Pioneer DJM-700 mixer and i have a mini jack to dual RCA cable. The mini jack is plugged in to the computer's headphone output, and the RCA cables are plugged into the mixers REC input.
