Re: Bitwig Studio New DAW
it makes sense that it would be a little harder to implement the use of space bar while having a vst open, since the VST window in bitwig is an entirely different process. It's kinda stupid though, i hope they fix it.

Re: Bitwig Studio New DAW
Novation is great. You don't need automap to use the devices anyway. Live even has remote scripts you can write. So... it's great because you don't have to use automap? And Live has user remote scripts for most controllers, and you can write your own. Some of us don't really want to get into ...

Re: The Reason Q&A Thread
Well it works, as long as you're aware that it delays 10ms. You could for example just use the regroove mixer's slide knob to pull it back 10 ms so it's back in time again.
But as someone pointed out, the SSL mixer from reason 6 upwards has an inbuilt gate.

Re: The Reason Q&A Thread
Yeah this works, i did it before. Be aware of the fact that the signal has been delayed by 10 ms though, so for drums it's not great.

Normally it should work the first time, just make sure you go to the actual value it's at.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Not sure what you mean by "refreshing", but the reason you need to do that is because you need to "catch" the value it's on at that moment. Your midi fader can be at 0 and the value it's automating in your daw at 127, and then it'll only start working as soon as you pass that poi...

Re: Bitwig Release Date and Price Set 4realz
It can definitely do stuff other DAWs can't do. There's some videos on their youtube channel where they show off some of them. That said, it's easy to get lost in features before you try it, i'll have to see for myself what it's like to work with it.

Re: Stereo Panning VST?
Hard panning two copies of an identical sound doesn't do anything. 100% left + 100% right = 100% center (assuming pan laws, etc) Regardless, you don't have to duplicate a whole track to have parallel effects. That's what effect racks are for. Yes it really does, try it yourself. I'm pretty sure har...

Right, and i acknowledged my mistake. So what? Everyone makes 'em. I'm sorry if i came across as arrogant, but I was convinced that the person i was replying to was making a mistake. And I was wrong. But I'm sure you can convince yourself that me wrongfully judging a person on his music production k...

Re: Decent Stereo-Field Expander Plug-in?
Not knowing the term for a name is not the same as not knowing what it does and how you're supposed to use it. Xfer one is in here, it's pretty good: http://xferrecords.com/freeware/ Besides that, Maximus has a "stereo separation" knob which doesn't actually add side content, but it enhanc...

Seriously, is you being a twat about me making a mistake really worth reviving a 4 month old thread, not to mention sacrificing your time? I hope it made you feel very good. Besides, i doubt the person i was replying to was talking about upward compression.

You realize there's cables that plug on the front of your motherboard right? You can't all make them magically disappear. That said you could probably get those power cables out of the way.

How to get "professional" mixdown
Hello, I'm struggling a lot to get a professional sound. I'm fairly certain it's due to mixdown/mastering but i don't exactly know WHAT the problem is (i know my tracks sound bad, i just don't know why). Compare my track to the madeon track and you'll see what i mean. How do you get a sound like tha...

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Because it's a warp mode? If it's not being warped, it's not gonna affect the sound. What the formant does is not some magic effect. It just compensates for the shift of frequency spectrum when you pitch something up or down. If it's at zero, the spectrum will be shifted entirely. If it's at max, it...

Re: My DAW is better than yours! (Friendly DAW Wars debate)
It's only 1 buck for the precompiled version though, that's hardly spectacular. They'd probably do the same with the source code if they didn't release it under an open source copyleft license.
That said i'm pretty sure that when bitwig comes out it'll outclass Ardour as far as linux daws go.
