Re: Bassnectar sound

To be honest, this thread made me go back to Reason. The only thing(s) I dislike about Reason, are the EQ isn't as efficient as I need it to be, it needs a stock multiband compressor, and there isn't just a flat out LFO rack (at least I don't think there is). LFO rack? also there's loads of multiba...

Re: coursera intro to music production course bogus as fuck

so i've been excited for months to start this course only to be massively disspointed. the 6 week course consists of watching video lectures, taking quizzes on those lectures, and then taking videos regurgitating the same information as the lectures as we watched. we can relate it to our equipment ...

Re: your favorite synth to create distorted 303 sounds?

Try unsynched lfo's * subtly * modulating distortion, pitch shift to simulate analog drift/slop. Use a delay, very short delay time...feedback to taste, overdrive this into a LPF to darken the tone, probably some resonance. You want a short enough delay that it's more of a thickening effect like a ...

Re: Tip for everyone on Low Frequency Managment

It is very tedious, but if you do it from the beginning, your mix will sound much more clean, leaving you room to fill up. Side chaining changes the waveforms movement and transient therefore you change the sound. Thats neither a good or bad thing. just different results. :-) This. his method uses ...

Re: drum racksonracksonracks questions

Did hou guys actually understand his post? He's confused as to how signal comes out of drum racks. It's a bit more convoluted than that as he's using AUX processing. Basically you need to learn how to perform a scientific experiment. Develop a way to find out what you're asking in your program and ...

Re: Using actual snares in 4-4 house music

Hasezwei, I mean four by four house tunes with bassdrums on everybeat and snares on every second beat. That being said, interpret it as you wish. This wasn't directly an advice thread so much as a discussion thread. i swear sometimes it sounds like the kick pitched up instead of a real snare. claps...

Re: Production P.E.M.D.A.S- The order of effects

I've always done my splitting and hard cuts first. I figured that processing a select area of frequencies would yield cleaner results than processing all frequencies and trimming the outputs with EQ. This is a topic of high interest to me with very little documented online. How do you guys do it and...
