Can I get some help with my Katy Perry remix?
Hey all,

I'm about done with this remix and Im really curious about 2 things:

1. How does the song sound from a "professional" standpoint? I mastered it myself which I normally dont do so ...

i disagree. ya they sonud pretty much exactly like Knife Party but that is impressive all in its own. They're synthesis/sound design, and mixes are so clean. I'd like to see anyone on this forum have a cleaner mix with that much going on. I know I'm not able to mix that well yet.

Just curious if anyone knows anything about these guys? Age, production background ect? I just recently heard of them and their production is unbelievable. You can obviously tell their Knife Party influence but their song structure is also pretty cool and innovative (from what I've heard). They also ...

i Stumbled on his youtube page and he seems like he's very knowledgeable. His studio template seems awesome and his ill.methodology is kind of intriguing. I'm curious if anyone else has checked out/bought his stuff?

I may be thinking about it too hard but I recently used the stereo delay followed by m/s and it just sounds so wide and clean I feel like I should ...

That definitely makes sense. Is it "better" to use m/s EQing on all of your sounds or is it "better" to just use it on your mix?

Also, I'm doing some stereo delaying (using Abletons Stereo Delay) for widening purposes. Will I potentially get phasing issues by using the stereo delay and ten m/s ...

When doing a remix do you leave the tracks from the original at 0dB or do you drop them lower to fit the dynamic range of your remix? For instance,

I tried searching for FM8 stuff on this board but it wouldn't let me search. Im just curious if anyone uses FM8 for their reese basses and if they find it to be "better" than other synths you may use?

I just switched from Logic to Ableton. When I used Logic there was a good stereo spreader in it but now Im not sure what to use. Lately I've been using ozone 4 stereo imager but ozone is a cpu hog. Anyone know of any good stereo imaging plugins you could suggest?
