dubstep blew up, regaining interest in drum and bass

stupid question. i know, like dubstep, there are a dozen sub-genres of drum and bass. i have no idea what the differences are. mainly, what would this be classified as? ive been addicted to it for the past few days.

8ths and 16ths and an 8. in there every so often. no crazy syncopation or anything. aside from a few tuplets, its pretty straight.

it sounds like a square/saw + melofant or some organ sounding waveform. low passed and an lfo on the resonance (amongst other things). it is probably simple to make so stop reading so deeply into it.

put a little gain on and some other effects. bounce it. and do it all over again until the sound is loud enough to your liking. thats how i do it weather its wrong or right, it works for me.

bounce everything. add your effects. bounce again. add more effects and keep doing that until you get a big fat sound that takes up less cpu than your vst when it isnt playing anything. im slowly working into that habit. its been doing me well

do this is massive bassline... lfo on cutoff and what ever else you like to put it on because you are allowed to modulate more than the filter cutoff. get a performer. put the performer on the LFO rate in which you are modulating everything with. drag it from where you want the quick wobs to be to h...
