Spineless? How so? In his video he makes it almost sound like dubstep is for the simpler minded people who cannot handle dnb. Unless I'm just interpreting him wrong.

Oh, that's good :) I'm a fairly big member in the YouTube dubstep community, and it's quite a big difference than being here, because most of them listen to the screechy stuff. Sorry for not being clear, I understand that the more minimal, bass heavy dubstep is still alive and well today, I just meant that when many people think of dubstep now, they think of the screechy, wobbly stuff.

Like others have said, it's no big deal. Mainstream dubstep is the popular kind, but the original dubstep style is still fairly underground. I've even had people tell me that artists such as Skream are not dubstep, which shows how little people even know about it's original sound.

I'm not sure if this is the type of dubstep you're looking for, but the song "Sunlight" by Modestep starts out as dubstep and then transitions into dnb. Hope this helps.
