I want to set up a little home studio.
I have a pair of studio monitors and a MacBook Pro. Aside from that, I have no other sound equipment. All of my producing takes place on my computer for now. What do you guys suggest I do? Will probably set it up in our currently unused living room. Also, I asked a similar question earlier, would li...

When I'm highly focused on something I don't do anything but that specific task. Pizza is always a good choice for any time, though.

Re: I heard Dubstep for the first time today.
That is a great tune. You should copy paste those bars a few dozen times and send it to Hotflush. :? Anyway, here's my second dubstep attempt. Other than the length and arrangement, thoughts? I think it's definitely a big step in the right direction as opposed to my first attempt. http://soundcloud...

Re: How to make a Nice Build up
May I suggest taking a crash symbol clip, stretching it out and playing it backward? Don't know how well this would work, but you may want to try it just in case as it sounds a lot faster than ^^

There's nothing I hate more than bad customer service. Big business/capitalism in general can all suck a fat one.

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Trying to come up with some bass in Ableton and this is the best I have come up with...sorry for such a short clip, how can I make this bass sound deeper? It's just an operator with auto filter. Also when it wobbles and changes to a new note, it doesn't flow smoothly, the attack is real sudden. Any ...

Re: What is the preferred method...
Dubstep, is, digital. And your favorite 'professional' producers within the genre, are, more then likely, average joes who have day jobs outside of this man, dont put em on a pedestal, its unhealthy. Outside of dubstep, in the realms of commercial hiphop, and in really traditional edm scenes like t...

What is the preferred method...
...for professional producers? Do they create their bass in a DAW like the amateurs or do they use straight hardware with no computer?
If the latter, what does a professional set up usually include?

Re: Ableton
I was trying to drag the operator directory instead of the actual operator device, rofl. skills, although where it says operator and has the arrow to open up it's presets is the synth itself and can be dragged into project/double clicked into it. so still a bit confused why you've had an issue. I d...

Re: I heard Dubstep for the first time today.
If you just heard Dubstep for the first time today you may want to just chill and listen to some more tracks before you start trying to make your own. Let it sink in a little bit. In terms of feedback, there isn't that much there to feedback on. You should check all the stickies in the production f...

Re: Ableton
It should allow you to drag Operator (before you open the folder to see the presets) to a midi channel, when you do - it should be blank It's not letting me. stop using pirated software and it might let you. That's funny considering I figured out the problem. Maybe you shouldn't be so quick to accu...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZP4xaj0mUk maybe this tutorial will help you. I can't get Ableton to allow me to create a blank Operator so this tutorial is useless to me apparently.

Re: Ableton
Yes, that shows all the oddly specific operators...the videos I've seen all have the user dragging "Operator" by itself into the area, it creates sort of a blank operator that just plays a sine wave ripe for editing. My question is how do I make a blank operator?drake89 wrote:double click operator.

Re: Ableton
Let me rephrase, it forces me to instead make an already edited operator under the operator menu, it will not allow me to drag the word "Operator" into the playing area to create a blank operator.

Ableton
The tutorials I've seen for wobble bass all require you to make an "Operator." Ableton won't let me create a new operator...Any idea why not?
