Re: Weighty Snares?

Re: Advice for finishing tracks and not scrapping ideas?

Lay down the tune quickly, then when it's over halfway done do the technical part, fix the drum sounds, add more samples/change samples etc. I find that when I get into the technical bit too quickly, I won't finish the tune.

Don't get too caught up on one track though, try to make track as good as you can, then move on to the next one... Your mixes will improve over time.
Also, use reference mixes, they help :D

Re: Getting energy into leads

Start with a good sound, and then it's all about having other elements in the track that compliment the sound so everything sounds full and tight together. If you have the best lead in the world and shitty drums to it, some weak sub and a poopy mixdown then it's probably not going to sound very goo...

Layer it with a pure sine wave and adjust levels to taste. Now you got a mighty sine wave + some harmonics and it's n...

Re: I wanna talk monitors again

Bringing this up again. Really want the Equator D5's now because of Fragment, but they are really expensive in Europe, so I have to buy them from equators website and ship them from the us to sweden with one of those shipping companies which is expensive. So, Wub recommended Presonus ERIS a while a...
