dont get lost in thinking more is better when trying to create a sound, start with basic waveforms... for example a simple detune and distortion can make interesting sounds.

Re: Help in getting creativity back into my composition
are you writing the melodies with your mouse or playing it with your keyboard? Two very different things... Sometimes playing in a new key will open up new doors. For example I like f minor and most of the time I played it in f minor. Playing the f minor chord in c# major created so many different c...

Re: Why does 0db sound so quiet...
Ok so I'm just resampling some stuff and it's peaking at 0db. I'm just wondering why it sounds so quiet in comparison to audio on like soundcloud or whatever. (The sound I'm comparing is also on soundcloud.) thats because you can go over 0db if you are staying in the digital mp3 soundcloud whatever...

Re: Sorrow & Asa Production
sounds to me like there are granular samples being modulated in between beats to give it that shuffling movement, also with the "eskmo" clap, a good clap layered with a tree branch being broken sample, also granulized.

Re: Mastering & Mixdown (ft. The Money Shot Thread)
a question... I posted a few remixes on indbaba and they have the waveform display of your track. There are tracks which peak over 0 db to as much as 6-7 db, meaning off course they are louder. Almost all winners are "louder" tracks. My question is: when is over 0 db ok and when is it not ...

Is this so hard? Honestly. for someone that's got Zebra2 and Massive and doesn't seem to know the slightest thing about synthesis :corntard: You could spend all that time you've been torrenting software to, idk, do a bit of research :W: This question has been asked a million times by the way, I wou...

Re: Learning Keyboard for Producing?
dubstep doesnt really require you to know how to play piano. Just know your scales and chords and let your ear be the judge. Offcourse you can only benefit by practicing piano if you have the will to do the drill. You can download midi`s and then learn how to play bar by bar a song that`s interestin...

Re: Fun things to do when you're bored of producing.
Sometimes i like to mess around with my DAW - once in Ableton i created a set where i had delays feeding back into each other with different timing variations and high feedback. Then i sent a short blip of sound through it and listened while chaos ensued. Took about 5 minutes for it to build up ful...

I am not an abl user...does ableton show any midi activity when you turn the knobs? Does it power on when you plug it in the usb? Anyway, nanopad IMO is one of the best controller`s for that money. I dont even use it as a pad for drumming, I mostly use its x-y controller which I think is awesome and...

no disrespect, I really dont hear anything interesting going on in her tunes.
