When I make a sub I just have it filling pretty much 30hz-60hz and sometimes 70-110, and then have it peaking at around 50, am I doing it wrong? I've never heard anyone talk about tuning kicks to a note O.o if you have a kick drum that has a precise area that it peaks at often times you can pitch b...

45hz is rougly an F. It would appear like 45hz on the spectrum unless you zoom in extremely tight. with that said, F subs always sound crisp from the get go. Don't be afriad to let your sub hit other notes though, varying between the sub being "attached" to your bassline and "underly...

i just aquired a zoom h2n portable microphone for field recording and sound design stuff haha i've been running around my house all day recording things hitting against each other. my family things i've lost my mind but i'm in heaven!

that chart is priceless for pitching your kick drum to be in tune with whatever key your playing in btw, but i do like the area around 45 (48.9994 to be exact ;-) ) that G is nice

bass notes that sound the best on club systems

i remember hearing a while back that most dubstep songs are in two or three keys because those are the bass notes that hit the hardest on a typical club system, does anyone know what these notes are?

To get that sound though it takes a lot more than just one distortion plug ;) Layering, lots of EQ and some resampling would be starters hahaha yeah i knew the good old square wave with a little distortion on it wouldn't do the trick i was just wondering what different kinds of distortion you guys ...

awesome tune! you might want to add a little more percussion if you're looking for more of a stuctured sound, but i dig the loose feel too

this is really awesome! pretty powerful track. i think it might be missing some kind of high end. either that or there might be some frequency cancellation going on in your highs, i can't really tell, but this great, keep it up!

i like the feel of this song! it's cool, i think some of your instruments might be distorted though, make sure you're not in the red on your master, or any other instrument
