Houston Texas Meetup

I've been brainstorming on this for a while, a meeting of the minds if you will, production heads, coming together for a common cause, that would be bass and beats. There's a loose scene here but I recognize the potential for bigger things, better music, and a focus in building. Scenes that evolve fr...

Re: Hardware sampler owners

To the OP I use an mpc 1000 with maxed ram and jj OS. This OS with this machine is an absolute breeze and a BEAST. I resample onto the cf memory card. Then I load the wavs onto a computer thru a USB card reader. Download the wavs and that's that. The swing and the ease of drum programming is absolut...

Re: Let's talk progression...

I'll try and offer you a different perspective. As far as sharing how you do things programming wise, it's a touchy subject, amongst a lot of "producer " led genres. This is different from Rock because a distinctive style, sounds, equipment tricks, etc really identify a producer. I'll give...

Muslimgauze will rElax and then take you to another place. Especially "relaxing" on some substance. Quasimoto unseen which is one of the best albums ever, in my opinion. Aphex twin boy girl song, 4. Shackleton makes soothing, traveling tunes. Thievery corP but they may be a bad word round ...

Re: No, No no no no.

I could agree with the perspective " it's MTV , their opiniOn means nothing"... But my issue is this, they're not even respecting the culture enough to hire a writer who knows the first thing about the music. I suppose u cannot expect them to, the community is just a commodity or a target ...

Re: So just how awful is that new Photek tune?

It's rolling groove is cool, very agreeable track , sounds deliberate though like veering into poppy.

I agree that the chords that come in are very similar to the crystal castles track.

extra deepness Instead of making everything massive:t: I like this topic because I feel it becomes pivotal in ones work. Do u cater to the dancefloor? Do u produce what will get play on dubstep Internet radio stations? Do u make music that simply sound good to YOU?? I go to dubstep nights occasiona...

Re: Mix With Your Ears, Not Your Eyes

when listening back to more than just 8 bars at a time, I always like to turn around and not look at any sort of audio gear-- seriously, not staring at the DAW screen, or even SEEING the monitors, helps put things into perspective-- which can get lost after a 12 hour writing day. This. One can get ...

Quick question. I'm using a paid version of 9 something. I recently bought the newtone/ pitcher ( which is amazing btw) but so far u can only use them in the beta until the officials released. Which means I had to install the beta too. I've had prOblems with crashing during export all the sudden. Co...

I'm anxiously awaiting this record. His chord progressions and textures are a bit futuristic and rejuvenated my interest in sound design. I think he has some potential in the pop market also, should he ever Choose to pursue it.
