Re: DJ Madd - Metallic Midrange tutorial

Out to the Madd for being a hero and making this tutorial, especially as people are begging for a decent one of these in the forum atm, big up on the album it's got some of the best tunes i've heard for quite a while, real royal vibes, and each track offers something different!

Re: Yamaha HS50m Vs. KRK R5'G2's?

Well I wouldn't say the hs50s have a harsh high end, yes they are fatiguing to the ear, but its because its a flat response, its not catered to the ear like hi-fi speakers to make it sound all nice and shiny. If you dont get fatigued from monitors then you know it's cos they are giving a nice repre...

Re: Yamaha HS50m Vs. KRK R5'G2's?

Cheers guys, pretty much the best help i've found and it's from people who've experienced all three of the speakers the KRK's have got muddy low end, but then again 5'inch won't be running a proper loud and heavy low end so will this be a major problem? (bearing in mind i will volume mix in part usi...

Re: Yamaha HS50m Vs. KRK R5'G2's?

I have the hs80s, I have never used the hs50s but I love my 80s and they must be of similar quality. I have heard that the hs50s have an even flatter response than mine and that they are close to the NS10s which are notoriously truthful. I have also heard that the KRK Rokit range have a slight boos...

Yamaha HS50m Vs. KRK R5'G2's?

Searched the refined search but theres no real 'answer' if there's even is a answer to this debate, and before i get the response that 5'inch is 'not bass heavy enough...you need 8' you need subwoofer's.. blahahahaha' i'm not after massive speakers, due to my budget, and also i personally think it's...

Just a quickie ;)

Out of interest if your running a mac book pro, can you get away with a jack to xlr with your monitors? or are mac sound-cards just as terrible as a standard other computers/laptops? and so is it better to just get an audio interface? been thinking about this and wanna know anyone's thoughts?

Re: The 'help me make that dungeon sound' thread

tbh its not that involved, its just lots of distortion, the waveforms you use are almost irrelevant, I garantee you almost all the settings Ive got are different to what District did to get something roughly simillar. In this case I used mtalk, scrapyard and groan 1, and theres an lfo on a skream f...

Re: Studio monitors

R6's work well in your room and are not too loud, anything pushing that and your looking at either a treated room or a studio... how so? i'd have thought any speaker would need a treated room... something i've yet to do. but i've got the rokit 8's, do you think the 5's would sound better? Having a ...

People can bang on about nice loud mackies and adam's.. truth be told.. unless your funding buying them with money you made making music.. t...
