Re: Why does 0db sound so quiet...
Go into your daw, create a sine wave at 200hz at 0db. Create another sine wave, this one at 4khz at 0db. Listen to the 200hz, then listen to the 4khz. Which one is louder? Report back. Well the 4khz at 0db is just intolerable. I wouldn't say its any louder than 200hz though. Just more shrill and un...

Re: Why does 0db sound so quiet...
I'm not even using a limiter, or raping the signal in any way. I just used a single compressor. The sound I'm mostly referring to is a reese bass(So I guess it has been raped in some ways, but in the best ways.) that I uploaded to soundcloud... So much rape. I'm sorry.

Why does 0db sound so quiet...
Ok so I'm just resampling some stuff and it's peaking at 0db. I'm just wondering why it sounds so quiet in comparison to audio on like soundcloud or whatever. (The sound I'm comparing is also on soundcloud.)

Re: Obtaining/Ripping audio samples
Okay so even after following the steps on the video I posted, I couldn't get a signal from the Stereo Mix input. It didn't make any sense. So after fiddling around with virtually everything, I unplugged my audio interface and wah-lah, it worked. The only problem is is that the quality sounds kind of...

Re: Obtaining/Ripping audio samples
I am so confused. I cannot get Audacity to receive any audio signal whatsoever. I've got the the input coming in from my sound card but yet there's nothing... I feel like it shouldn't be this complicated. Am I missing something?

Obtaining/Ripping audio samples
So I'm just wondering what you guys do to get audio samples from saaaay, DVDs primarily. I've tried multiple DVD audio ripping programs and needless to say, they're all utter shit. Super glitchy, constant crashes, blah blah blah. If anyone could point me int he direction of a quality program that wo...

Phasing issues with bass patches
Ok, so I'm trying to figure out how to keep my basses sounding nice and crisp without getting all fuzzy and riddled with static the longer that the note is held. Does anyone know what I mean when I say that? Like the sound just basically deteriorates. I'm using Massive. And yes, I know about the res...

Re: Quality loss when resampling?
Yes, it was peaking at 0 db before I bumped it up by 1 db on the mixer channel. I know pushing it above that is a "no no", but I was more so just testing to see if that quality could match that of the original. It sound exactly identical that way. Not that I would leave it like that in a m...

Re: Quality loss when resampling?
Nah man, I got my compression on LOCK. The samples are sublime and everything meshes wonderfully. So basically, I just bumped up the bounced sample by 1 db and it sounds exactly the same... Who knows....Workssss for me.

Re: Quality loss when resampling?
Unless I'm doing it wrong, the samples are actually sounding way quieter now using that method.
