Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@Darj: love this, the ambience and those little incidentals are perfect. i would try adding a few more bass hits to round it out and find a good sample, other than that this sounds pretty much finished. nice work @stranger_sounds: the beat and all of the sounds are great in this, i would just make t...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@R3N3gAD3: like you said, the mix needs work. I love that horn melody that comes in about 2/3 of the way through. not a huge fan of that synth you've got on the up beat chords. also I think this could use more bass, try to get some higher frequencies involved @BudSpencertron: cool sounds but I think...

@mikeyp: thanks man, they're actually from a pack someone posted on here called "Amazing Snares" which lives up to its name, I use it all the time but I just did a search and couldn't find the post

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@kidstrange: this is gorgeous, wow. I would say the mix sounds a little crowded around 500hz but otherwise I love everything about this, not much to say @Voodeedoo: what's really great about this is the rhythm and the cuts, that's a really fat, dancey bassline you've got going there, but your actual...

Re: List Of Members Collaboration // Collabs Thread

What DAW do you use? Logic How long have you been producing for? probably six or seven years but dubstep-wise about a year What VSTs do you favour? Massive, FM8, Fleischprodukt Waveshaper, Vacuumsound ADT, Tyrell N6 What artists/labels would you say most clearly reflect your sound? I think I have m...

Re: Old Funk & Soul Acapellas/Samples?

there's quite a lot of motown acapellas (think the temptations, jackson 5, the four tops, this kind of stuff) floating over the internetz, not sure how ok it is to post links to these here, but i'm pretty sure a google search will find them for you true. i have a few...most are hits and well known ...

Old Funk & Soul Acapellas/Samples?

Lately I've been really vibing soulful tracks like Pretty Lights' newer material and Heartbreak's Moombahsoul stuff, but I wonder where are all of these artists getting these old soul acapellas and samples? Are they using sample packs or sampling from home or what? I think it would be really inspiri...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@awfulhabitz - love the vocal chops in this, really cool. I would add some more hi hat and perc action in the intro, it's pretty flat as of right now. try an arp or something to fill out the intro as well. I like your fist bass sound but the second I'm not crazy about, maybe change it to something g...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *

@Hero - love the arrangement and the drums. the basses could use some tweaking, and I would mix them louder and the drums a bit quieter. also see if you can come up with a few more incidentals to fill out the track @Rebel - damn that arpeggio and bassline are bouncy as fuck. I love the samples as we...

oh man not a "help me make this sound" thread 2:01 http://soundcloud.com/nickraymondg/ass-on-the-floor-zedd-remix I love that sound, anyone else ever attempted to make it? I've had pretty good results with Massive's carbon wavetable and a camelcrusher but I can't seem to nail it And my au...

Re: Who's Actually Experimenting?

Don't want to spam this thread with my experimental stuff, but it said to shamelessly post your shit, so... Two more experimental tracks from 2009. I recorded these in one marathon session with some Casios, effects boxes, and an old Tascam 4-track cassette mixer. I really miss that thing, beautiful ...

Re: Who's Actually Experimenting?

when I was 17 I was recording a lot of experimental ambient/electro/drone music under the name Omoi...had one release on a free label. I'm embarrassed by most of it now but I guess I'll link to it in case anyone is interested. my favorite part about it was the awesome blurb the label guy wrote about...

Hoborg - WARNING!!

Finished this tune up this afternoon, it's been in the works for a while. This is my first dubstep track that I would really call "finished", but knowing me I'll probably be poking at it again in a week. Please go ahead and leave some feedback, and definitely download it if you're feeling ...

Re: how long do you spend making a track?

I have a serious tweaking problem...tracks take me weeks, minimum, and if I leave it alone for a month and come back then I feel the need to tweak more. Not sure if its a bad thing, but it seems like a lot of the big producers really churn this stuff out...maybe they just have a solid workflow worke...
