Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread

Re: Seven Lions- ddd.du.du..du..du....du sound.

play a chord with a big sounding patch, put a filter that can be modulated by an LFO on it. set up the LFO so that it completely takes the filter from %100 on to %100 off, Turn the LFO shape into some sawtooth or ramplike type shit, make sure your LFO is unsynced and play with the speed. this should...

Re: Kill The Noise - Talk To Me Bass

i couldnt get anything out of malstrom until one day i made this project that was basically 128 bars, with the automation for the index increasing every bar from 0 to 127, it was kinda over kill but it helped me pin point exactly where i wanted the vowels and shit to start, it really helped me more ...

Re: Kill The Noise - Talk To Me Bass

i'm almost positive KTN is using malstrom. i'm honestly not sure if people saying massive are trolling, but then again its hard for me to tell a lot of the time on DSF haha. I think the really intelligible part before the drop is almost definitely a sample being effected, most likely with the same c...

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread

haha it would make sense since i have been doing the exact opposite of that to no avail. i always thought the larger buffers meant the program had more "space" to do calculations, i'm probably waaaay off.

Re: The Reaper Q&A Thread

If i have a track with a decent amount of virtual instruments and effects running, i've noticed reaper will start "skipping" it doesn't make the glitchy noises like a alot of daws did, more often it plays notes slightly out of time or skips over them. I feel like its a buffer issue, but it...

Re: BEST TRACK ON FORUMS!! Maistro - Sonus (glitch/dubstep)

interesting sounds, i would try and work on getting things more "songlike" though. try to work in more continuity so it doesn't just seem like a bunch of drops, maybe also add some hats or something to fill the precussion in on the high-end. also, im sure you would get more feedback if you...

Re: rock/acoustic drummer fills/rolls

just grab some good rock drum samples and load them into your favorite sampler. a good tricks for making believable drum rolls is to, 1. constrain your drum hits to the idea that a normal drummer usually only has 2 arms to manipulate the kit, plus 2 legs that might work a hi-hat and a single kick pe...

Re: does reason 6 contain all of the old factory sound banks

i've been using reason since 3, and they have always rolled over things from previous versions into the next one. I think they pride themselves on backwards compatibility since reason is virtually a closed system. I dont have 6 yet but i would imagine they kept the tradition alive.

the RAGE ad made me notice this tracks sick sound design.

i especially love the filtering and distortion of the bass, it makes it hard to tell whats real and synthesized. and of course all the ambient sounds that fill out the track.

Re: !! Would Anybody Be Interested In a DSF RAP BATTLE 2.0

i would be down for this. it would be kinda sick if we could agree on a beat for everyone to use, to make it more about the verses. i could see how that could get wacky though.

i love when questions like this get answered. i've been wondering this for a while but i felt like there was some really obvious shit i was missing, thought it had to do with 64/86 or something.

Re: Vocal Packs

the vengeance vocals are all pretty nice too. lots of one shots and phrases that can easily be mangled or chopped up. I feel you on the acapella search though, with the type of tunes i do i like building tracks around vocals and it really puts a damper on my production when i can't find anything wor...
