Re: Alesis Monitor 1 Active MKII Powered Monitors
I used a studio for 2 year a couple times a week that had these next to some mackies and after a short while they weren't even worth referencing to, i hated em! i thought they were a pile of shit! Then a friend of mine that easily has the highest level of dance/heavy bass music mixdowns i know, told...

Re: Is using samples/melody lines cheating?
Personally I wouldn't but wholes genres have been built upon shit like this. Even now hip hop and its various surrounding genres are still using samples from allover the place. The amount of times i hear an advert thats used a vengeance loop is getting beyond funny now! However samples used within h...

Re: £500 AND I'M REALLY CONFUSED
Ya can either go 2 ways imo - Get monitors with money. Or keep ya headphones and get a decent interface until you take your music seriously enough to start buying monitors etc. and get a cheap midi keyboard for like 50 quid or summit. If you wasn't buying monitors you could get some decent headphone...

New EP, bit brostepish some might say but the track 'Strap' is like dirty Trap which is pretty different imo.

Re: Tune IDs (Whats the name of that tune/EP/album that....)
This is gonna sound daft but its driving me mad so I thought just try anyway. Its not dubstep its more, grime/uk hiphop scene. And I heard it on charlie sloths show twice and the only bit I can remember is that the beats drops out for a bar and goes silent and the guys like 'yea and the beat runs ou...

Re: someone please help with this mastering problem.
It could be what the other guys said but are you sure its not an issue of... Hmmm, hard to explain. Sometimes when you just keep playing your various parts of the track they will sound different to how they would if you played it from start to finish? This happens a lot and bouncing to audio maybe b...

To be honest your overall sound of the track isnt bad... Nothing in the mixdown jumps out as being poor or anything, I just think that bass needs more meat and i guess the repetitiveness is part of the sound your going for so cant comment on that really.

Something I don't get... I don't get how everyone slates the whole brostep sound etc. But in the same breath reps the DJs that rep the sound? Also, most of the production techniques asked and talked about on the forums are sounds for huge brostep snares and basses etc. Just don't seem to get where t...

help with sending promos/demos
I've read the sending dubs thread btw, But yea I was just wondering peoples take on what they put in writing when sending out music to labels and djs etc. Keep it short and sweet? Give em a short bio? This is one area I've always thought is important but always lacked in it so much so that I kinda t...

Re: KREATURE! - JIGSAW (DEATHSTEP - HEAVY - FILTH)
Drums are nice thick, lead stuff works for this type of track I'd say. Gets a bit mad I guess lol can't tell how good the bass is coz of the speakers I'm listening on but sounds alright to me. I think the samples work fine for this type of stuff as well. Kept me listening anyways.

This tracks got a nice vibe going on, I'd say percussion and drums are too clean for this sorter sound but that's totally opinionitive? Not sure about spelling there but yea, nice track and nice sounds as well.

Re: Axolotl - Gloria (Noisia/Spor inspired tune)
Yea sounds decent, sounds are really nice. Could possibly try and get it to sound heavier in the bottom end? But I'm listening on shit speakers so mix down wise I can't be too critical, although I'm certain your top is real nice! Dunno what sorter vibe ya going for with the track, I just think its a...

Re: How many times have you Blue Screened, while producing?
Its not necessarily related to hardware, it happens to me a lot on one of my laptops. For me it tends to be when I've installed new software when it happens. All I know is that when I delete the software it stop doing it.

For starters I'm not hating, did you read my post?
And yea maybe he did put the hours in but so do so many others and there's not exactly much info on the net how to get the exact sound.
I was curious if anyone actually knew anything, I wasn't trying to just randomly hate on the guy lol
