I found the same thing recently in my tunes I have way to many things going on that just clutters the mix. Instead of more just make what u have better. I can't imagine the talent and perfectionism it takes to make GOOD complextro\purple or whatever. Skrillex just hurts after awhile... check out mus...

You can produce without having a concept behind what you're doing - sometimes a tune is just a tune. That being said, inspiration comes from whereever. My advice would be to watch/listen/read as many different things as you can - albums, films, books etc - and keep a notepad next to you at all time...

op, i didnt pay attention to the track u gave as an eg i was able to squeeze a little information out of w.gartner. u could achieve a similar sound with the kicks that come with vengeance minimal. just layer them cleaverly... gartner spends a heckload of time resampling and mixing... he really does...

yeah vengeance samples rock most of the time and have brutal punch but like I said in the original post a lot have a weird mid range or high noise that totally ruins the sample. No amount of eq or other effects can cover it up. Initally they sound awesome but once you put it in a 4/4 beat and crank ...
